Do you know what’s even more ironic Al, is that Bill Clinton was supported from the beginning by his fellow Democrats during the Lewinsky scandal, and he was caught red-handed, with his DNA all over that White House intern’s dress. Despite the fact that he repeatedly had sexual relations right there, in the White House’s Oval Office, the Dems still stuck by him then...and still do, even now. What happened Al? They threw you to the wolves for something you did before you were even elected to political office, yet they condoned sexual misbehavior in the People’s House, by their Democrat President.
and the other victims were slandered by his wife and ignored by the media
It’s the best they’ve got on Trump - and even then, it’s private manly trash-talking, without actually admitting to doing anything wrong, contrasted with Franken’s grope collage photos. With Moore, what he allegedly did apparently was reasonable within the norms & laws of the time & culture, and zero evidence that he “did anything”. They’re trying real hard to leverage Franken, Pervs & Co into something where “never let a crisis go to waste”.
IIRC, Trump didn’t say what he _did_, he said what he _could_have_done_ - after being goaded into the topic by someone he had reason to banter with. And Moore was doing what was long a norm in many cultures: mature economically-stable men courting young legally-of-age women; no improprieties seriously alleged.
Personally, I don’t have a problem with Moore dating younger women.
I dated a 31 year old when I was 18/19. This was in Alabama in 1980/81. We were not unusual in our circle. He was a musician, so not marriage material. But I was crazy about him.
It's not my bag, but I understand it, there's a lot of things about Moore that run against the grain, the voters of Alabama never seemed to have an issue with it, and certainly there's nothing illegal or even shady about it.
Good. More Winning!
(and Moore Winning!)
When the population to choose from is much smaller than today’s, and financial stability/security is much harder to come by, and contraception/abortion rare, it’s in a family’s interest to ensure of-age daughters quickly find commitment with well-established self-sufficient men. Even a “not marriage material” musician at least knows how to keep self & others warm, dry, healthy, & fed as a long-emancipated adult.
I say in a few days he decides not to resign untill Trump does or some other foolishness like that.
Hes a grandstanding POS
Can certainly agree with that.
Unfortunately, his love for Crown Royal exceeded all others.
My father was 32 in 1936 when he courted my mother who was 15 at the time. My grandmother loved my father, and knew he'd be a good husband. They married the day after she turned 16 in October of that year, and remained married until my father passed in 1978. Their first child wasn't born until 1940. There were four of us. I was the baby...and I'm the only one left.
It's just another example of how the Democrats change the rules to suit their purposes. It wasn't politically expedient for them to withdraw their support of Clinton at the time. But now, with their party in tatters, and trying to regain the power they had, it's definitely politically expedient for them to eliminate one of their own so they can legitimize their attacks on Moore and Trump, despite the fact that there was more evidence against Bill Clinton than there ever has been against Trump or Moore.
I think so too. He wants Trump and Moore out.
I’m certain Trump won’t go. And Moore won’t back down.
It will be awesome if we lose Franken and another democrat or two and get Moore.
IF he were a man of honor, he would immediately deny allegations and fight same as slanderous. IF he were a man of honor and if he knew the allegations were true, he would simply apologize, pack his crap, and go home in shame.
The problem is that he’s NOT a man of honor. His choice to compare his behavior to others, screams an inability to hold himself accountable for his own behavior.
We’re all prone to failure, and many of us can think of bad words, choices, etc. in our lives. But you can’t run from them. You do the honorable thing - be accountable, be repsectful to those you’ve hurt and pay the appropriate penance. Doing so is the right and honorable thing to do. Failing to is the sign of weak, pathetic loser.
His actions and such a pathetic resignation speech is a filing of personal character bankruptcy (chapter 7). Worse, I bet this slug will stick around until pushed out office.
.
Just one little detail:
It is impossible for a rotting corpse like Al Franken(stein) to speak “Live!”
.
What? That he kissed a girl?
Does he need a contract for that?
Who gets to decide what that is?
You're content to let the left set the ground rules for being punished for actions that took place years and years ago.
I am not.
Did these women ask to be missed or groped? Mr. Franken isn’t denying accusations, and if I recall correctly acknowledge some of it.
Arent most kisses a game of chance, in a sense?
You feel an attraction, you sense the other person may be feeling the same. So you lean in.
Granted, sometimes you sense wrong. But kissing, or trying to, seems crazy to lose your job over.
Its like folks need a written contract these days just for a kiss.
