I am all for a “full investigation”...
I’m okay with a criminal trial - if there is sufficient evidence of a criminal offense. However, once the voters have elected a candidate (of either party, so the same would apply if, for example, Al Franken won reelection in his current predicament) in full knowledge of such claims, to remove that elected official is to overturn the will of the voters. The Senate has no business conducting such an investigation unless there is significant new evidence of criminal conduct.
Well. Thank goodness. That is refreshing. Usually they just take action without even seeing if it is warranted or not.
