(NEWSER) The former high priest of a famous Tokyo shrine killed his older sister, an accomplice, and finally himself with a samurai sword Thursday in what police believe was a feud over succession. Police say 58-year-old Nagako Tomioka, the high priestess of the Tomioka Hachimangu shrine, was killed by her brother, Shigenaga Tomioka, on the temple grounds after she got out of her car, the AP reports. His female accomplice attacked the driver, inflicting non-life-threatening injuries and chasing him hundreds of feet down a road, leaving a trail of blood. Shigenaga Tomioka is believed to have then killed his accomplice before taking his own life.

Yes, and what firearms prohibitionists and their friends in the enemedia do not bother telling people here is that domestic murder/suicide incidents happen far more often in Japan than people realize. Cases of men coming home to find that the wife killed the kids and then herself are not uncommon there.
Sketch wasn’t really all that funny and they were all high as kites.
Let me be the first to say Sword Control.
The Samurai Night Fever sketch was hilarious.
Japanese culture is weird.

That would be considered racist today.
I frequently do my impression of that skit around the office: Samurai Court Reporter!
As with all cases of murder-suicide, why couldn’t the stupid @$$#013$ just kill themselves first?
And IIRC those are recorded as “suicide”, not multiple murders + suicide.
One may notice that domestic rhetoric almost exclusively mentions “gun homicides” or “mass shootings”, inherently ignoring absolutely any homicide tool other than firearms.
So the job is still open?
Big business, Shinto priesthood. People pay priests goodly sums of money to say prayers for dead family members. Not just at the funeral but increments of years.. 1, 3, 5, 7... something like that. Plus, the Obon festival.. priests are needed to in the homes for that. Once, I passed by a very ritzy house in Kyoto belonging to a Shinto Priest. Looking through the closed gates, I could see the BMW and and Harley being washed by servants.
Big business, Shinto priesthood.
$hinto prie$t!......Nice work if you can get it!........................
