Trump: "My people are very upset" about Mueller obtaining emails
Axios ^ | Dec 17, 2017 | Mike Allen

Officials of President Trump's transition team plan to ask Special Counsel Robert Mueller to return "many tens of thousands" of transition emails they contend were unlawfully provided to him. But the prosecutor's office says emails being used in the investigation were properly obtained. President Trump, returning to the White House on Sunday, said when asked about the emails: "Not looking good. It's not looking good. It's quite sad to see that. My people are very upset about it. I can't imagine there's anything on 'em, frankly, because as we said, there's no collusion. There's no collusion whatsoever. A lot of lawyers thought that was pretty sad." Keep reading 472 words

What's new: A source close to Trump's transition, which still exists as a legal entity so it can shut down what was once a 1,000-person operation, said the transition will send a letter to Mueller informing him that some of the emails are privileged, and asking for their return. The transition says it is willing to provide Mueller with vetted emails.

The source told me: "What they did is totally illegal, and they need to fix it."

But Peter Carr, spokesman for the Special Counsel's Office, told Axios early this morning: "When we have obtained emails in the course of our ongoing criminal investigation, we have secured either the account owner's consent or appropriate criminal process." Be smart: Republicans, who have been raising increasing questions about Mueller's office, are prepared to argue that if emails were obtained by questionable means, that could taint or undermine the investigation.

What happened: Axios reported yesterday afternoon that officials of Trump's Presidential Transition Team, his office for the 73 days between the election and the inauguration, discovered that Mueller had obtained huge caches of emails from the General Services Administration...

Mueller needs to be investigated - and I’m not talking some spineless House investigation, but a real criminal one - indicted and sent to prison.

Unless those emails contain emails like this “Hey Vlad, thanks for hacking the DNC emails for me, the check is in the mail” other than that..Mueller has absolutely NO right to see those emails..this was already when Trump was elected PRESIDENT..he can talk to, have his associates talk to whoever the bloody hell they want to..BEFORE Obama became President, he already had his goons talk to Iran, never heard a peep from the media, apparently it was all good

In my personal opinion, this is going to sink the Mueller investigation. Upon reviewing the e-mails and realizing they contained potentially privileged materials, Mueller and his team had the ethical duty to (1) notify the Trump transition, and (2) return the privileged e-mails, unreviewed. Since they did not do that, everything that they have done since that they cannot prove were completely unrelated to their review of these e-mails will be considered “poison fruit.” No prosecutions could be based on it; and any prosecution that occurs would be reversed or dismissed.

I also hope that someone has submitted a bar complaint about this episode.

How is it legal for the FBI to investigate an alleged crime that they themselves fabricated?

“Returning the emails” does nothing but somehow imply that all will be forgiven if they just say they’re sorry.

Trump and his team need to send the criminals to jail. Nothing short of that will stop them—and if they are allowed to keep at it, they will find a time and way to take Trump down.

"..in the course of our ongoing criminal investigation.."

So is the Rosenweasel/Muellar witch hunt a criminal investigation (for which they have no crime to solve) or a counterintelligence effort?

...There’s no collusion whatsoever. ...
****************
Trump’s finally got it — there can be no collusion unless the communication furthered something illegal, and discussing foreign policy or business transactions with Russians is not illegal. I could have had the Russian ambassador over for dinner and pledged to work to repeal sanctions, and Flynn could have legally done the same. If he lied about doing this, he was an idiot.

Dear Tante Ludmilla,

Olav and I really enjoyed the borscht (wink wink). We wish we had some to keep us warm in the Caucus mountains when we vacation next November (nudge, nudge). It is too bad the troika is broken and that the horse has a sore hoof (snicker). Give our best to Uncle Vanya (sly glance).

Love,
Donnyet.

Given the extent of corruption across agencies, could be that there was a sloppy bum rush to collect information to find out what Trump’s team knew and if they were exposed.

either the account owner's consent or appropriate criminal process

Sounds like they were pretexted out of the GSA. Also the GSA is no friend of PDJT and might have just given them out 'by error' and error that can't of course be undone. I'm sure there's nothing he can do legally with the emails, but he can leak some either in context or out of context.

Next thing you know, He's going to have Trumps Tax return that every enemy of his wants.

Turnabout is fairplay as the saying goes. Have the oversight committee subpoena Mueller to explain and provide emails between his staff and between himself. Then have the Justice department order him to preserve all work product notes, emails letters in tact and unredacted.

But where is Jeff Sessions? Did he recuse himself from prosecutorial misconduct too?

We know Mueller has expanded the probe into other crimes. This is easily spotted with Rod Rosenstein testimony last week. He couldn't answer the simple question and refused to elaborate, using doublespeak and bureaucraticelese. He was asked over a 6 times directly in as succinct as possible question format.

Refer to: http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/deputy-ag-rosenstein-refuses-to-describe-scope-of-russia-probe-in-house-hearing/article/2643357

and do try and listen to the whole questioning session with Lamar Smith.
