Trump’s National Security Plan Warns of ‘Great Power Competition’ With Russia and China
The New York Slime ^ | December 18, 2017 | MARK LANDLER and DAVID E. SANGER, Misdirection desk

President Trump declared Monday that the United States faced growing competition from Russia and China, two great-power rivals that he said “seek to challenge American influence, values and wealth.”

But Mr. Trump, in presenting a new national security strategy that carried distinct echoes of the Cold War, said nothing about Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, even though the official strategy document itself warns briefly of “Russia using information tools in an attempt to undermine the legitimacy of democracies.”

Mr. Trump referred instead to a Sunday telephone call from President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia, who thanked him for intelligence that the C.I.A. had passed on to Russian authorities, which Mr. Trump said foiled a terrorist attack in St. Petersburg that could have killed thousands of people.

President Trump correctly evaluates foreign "threats" and assistance, then drives the Slimes crazy by ignoring DemoRat fantasy.

I actually don’t like this method framing of things. :(

It plays right into those “powers” hands and gives them too much credit. This is the day they (and OBAMA and HILLARY) have been dreaming of: validation and affirmation of the “multi-polar” world. (Translation: down with the U.S.)

What would God want?

This should be the 800 lb. canary.

More gospel means your gold is worth more too.

We shouldn’t begrudge it to Timbuktu let alone China or Russia.

Bring back American manufacturing from China.

China is a big risk, and we need to rebuild our own manufacturing.

For real.

Now.

much of the damage has already been done. the resulting joblessness is linked to the current opiate epidemic much of the country is experiencing right now too.

Bloomberg cheers on the bureaucrats -

18 Dec: Bloomberg: Washington Bureaucrats Are Quietly Working to Undermine Trump’s Agenda
Across the government, career staffers are finding ways to continue old policies, sometimes just by renaming a project.

Trump is in the best position in the world to declare that the USA is best in class and that if the world wishes to aspire higher, it should look at why the USA was blessed.

Little regimes like South Korea and Singapore don’t count because they sit under the West’s defense umbrella.

Marathon, it’s so depressing. China and Russia do not and would not have posed nearly the threats they do if it weren’t for those coming from *WITHIN* this country. I try not to focus on it. All we can do is PRAY.

If God can clean up Weinstein’s Hollywood, he can clean out all of America including the Deep State.

It’s a spiritual ennui at bottom.

Instead of “religion” being the opiate of the people, opiate use vies to become the religion of the people.

Amen. Thank you so much for phrasing things that way...We are so blessed as Christians to occupy this country for the few earthly hours given us.

I think the power shifts taking place in Europe are already heading in a God-ward direction to be honest (Brexit, even Macron is proving to be encouraging in some ways, Austria’s latest election)...it will take time.

All the gold with little or none of the gospel.

What could go wrong?

The USSR collapsed down to a more or less Christian core Russia.

Is China due a similar humbling? My guts say yes.

RedNeck, you are so correct!

And as I’ve constantly reminded people on the board who ask me why I can’t stand Putin — I’ve LIVED in Russia! And it is definitely going through a “humbling” moment, but you will not BELIEVE the hardness of hearts there!

Putin came to power because of the people’s refusal to repent after the Soviet collapse! And it is this very impulse of refusal the the CONTINUES to cling to power. He wants to AVENGE the FALL of the SOVIET UNION! (and the Russian Empire at that.)

I believe there is room for at least one more gospel heyday before the advent of the Lord in person.

Putin will have to pass from the scene before Russia can rise higher. He is too much into “Christian is cool” to understand “Christian is necessary for salvation of soul.”

Oh my and no it’s not “Christian is cool” it’s only “Christian is cool” when it is serves as the superficial veneer of righteousness to mask the evil of his actual intentions — which are essentially KGB in nature.

Like “rebuilding” churches in Syria....SO LONG AS Russian military bases can remain there!

There are a lot of Christians in Russia, but also a lot of people traumatized by the religion because they can’t distinguish Orthodoxy from the goings-ons of the State and all the corruptions thereof.

And the Catholic and Protestant sides of Christendom have seen similar abuses.

When the world has been walking all over you it’s a temptation to give a friendly state a blind quid quo pro.

But this is how it is as wayfaring strangers.

And still, being next to a military base isn’t the worst fate for a church. In a mixed situation I look for the grace.

“And the Catholic and Protestant sides of Christendom have seen similar abuses.”

VERY true — but the fact that Russia still attaches its political lineage to the Soviet Union has massive implications. (There was never any true “break.”)

Whereas at least at the moment the Vatican is formally separate from policy-making, political power... (I’m Catholic, but understand this is a good thing obviously.)
