I just had a thought on this.
1. Remember that Comey met with Mueller at the beginning of the investigation, privately. Supposedly, Trump also met with Mueller the day before Mueller was named.
2. It’s also come out recently that McCabe and Stzok withheld the finding of Hillary emails on Weiner’s laptop from Comey for almost two weeks. When Comey found out about it, he very publicly reopened the investigation into her email situation.
3. In March, Comey called the dossier “salacious and unverified”.
4. At some point, Trey Gowdy says that history will be much kinder to Mueller.
4. Then Mueller puts McCabe, Stzok and Ohr on his team?
Maybe Stealth Jeff is onto something.
"Constitutional clash"?
The DOJ is supposed to answer to the president, but it doesn't. That's the real Constitutional clash. And now it doesn't answer to Congress.
The DOJ thinks that it doesn't answer to anybody.
If it goes like the Holder contempt of congress, the FBI will ignore it and congress will say “OK, we tried.” Hoping for a better effort this time.
So they say. But we don't know that.
If Wray and Sessions stand by the credibility of the dossier, then they should be fired.
They would scream "Habeas Corpus!" A judge would have to get involved one way or another.
I have no idea what Sessions is up to. (well other than nothing at all...)
It has been my policy to hold out hope for him, but it’s unreasonable to, at this point.
He is destroying himself IMO.
There’s a wealth of critical things on his plate, and yet...
...it’s as if he’s at the Walforff...
...and he’s ordered fish...
sticks.
Sources close to the investigation say that McCabe was a friendly witness to the Democrats in the room, who are said to have pressed the deputy director, without success, to help them build a case against President Trump for obstruction of justice in the Russia-collusion probe. If he could have, he would have, said one participant in the questioning.
So that means that there is no case, dumb-asses. What next, a bolt of lightning piercing the chamber from on high, spelling out, “No case” in scorched marble?
Sessions just doesn’t want to get his hands dirty.
Instead of going down in history being remembered as cleaning up
DOJ and the FBI.
He seems to want to be remembered as covering up for
DOJ and the FBI.
The investigating committee needs to hire a P.I. to locate “a woman scorned” of one of these men who’d like nothing better than get revenge. Of course, it would have to be a woman who knows important details and doesn’t mind spilling the beans, and who has all kinds of proof.
I agree.
We all grew up with a lot of respect for the FBI. Having read books on it as a kid and having a strict law enforcement type in the home, I had a lot of respect for the agency.
They sure took care of that in short order over the last 20 years or so.
Seemingly clear actions of a criminal nature, were actually rewarded.
I think Sessions is too old school to man up and recognize the major problems the FBI has.
If the leadership is this bad, one can only wonder what the agency is like from that point down.
They would scream “Habeas Corpus!” A judge would have to get involved one way or another.
Already litigated all the way to SCOTUS.
L
McCabe is a Grade A Democrat weasel. He should be forced to testify publicly, without government paid lawyers.
LOL. So the FBI stands by the “dossier’s” credibility but not its contents.
Was McCabe under oath?!?
It’s a hangin’ offense.
Doen’t matter. Felony to lie to or mislead Congress regardless of whether under oath.
Jail time will get them talking.
“fake but accurate” just as shttheel Dan Rather said about his own fake documents designed to bring down a sitting president.
