US, Israel reach cooperation agreement on Iran: report

U.S. and Israeli officials reached a closed-door cooperation agreement on how to deal with Iran, according to Israel's Channel 10 News.

The agreement, which was reportedly signed on Dec. 12 at the White House, aims to counter Iran's missile and nuclear programs.

According to Channel 10, the agreement would translate President Trump 's Oct. 13 speech decertifying the Iran deal into "steps on the ground."

The two countries have reportedly decided to set up joint teams to combat Iran in the region.

One joint team would grapple with Iran's ties to the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, as well as Iranian activity in Syria.

The second team would aim to deal with Iran's nuclear goals, while another team would specialize in dealing with the country's missile program.

The fourth team is designed to control preparations for any escalation from Hezbollah or Tehran.

The new organization reported a senior Israeli official as saying the two nations “see eye to eye on the trends and processes in the region."

U.S. national security adviser H.R. McMaster and his Israeli counterpart Meir Ben-Shabbat led the negotiations, according to Channel 10.

The Hill has reached out to the White House for comment.

The report comes as U.S.-Iranian relations have declined in recent months.

Trump announced in October that he would decertify the Iranian nuclear deal, which was reached during the Obama administration.

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley ripped into Tehran earlier this month when she presented what she said was "undeniable” evidence that Iran was supplying weapons to Yemeni rebels in defiance of U.N. Security Council resolutions.

U.S.-Israeli relations have been on the uptick since Trump announced earlier this month the U.S. would recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Iran's legislative body voted on Wednesday to declare Jerusalem the capital of Palestine.

Great to see the U.S. and Israel working together again against Iran and terrorism.

Same here.

We’re going to wind up having to confront Iran just like North Korea.

“I’ll bet there are more nations involved than two.”

Every Muslim nation would like to be the center of the new Caliphate. The problem with being runner-up in the Caliphate race is the losers will be subjugated. Subjugation in the Muslim world is a bloody, messy, wet affair. So, Iran’s successes are scaring the rest of the Muslim world spitless. While most of the Muslim nations won’t take a big role in taking down Iran, they will probably all provide a bit of plausibly deniable help.

Why do we need this? Obama already made a deal with Iran for them to abandon their nuclear program...

...and the Iranians are trustworthy....

...aren’t they?

We are already confronting Iran by putting the screws to the Norks IMHO, those two are as thick as thieves. This will just crank the screws tighter.

This is a test to see how fast the Deep State can leak this information to Tehran, the WaPo and the NY Times.

Luv FR and brilliant out of the box thinking like this, DoughtyOne, Brilliant! Yes I can see the new House of Saud, Egypt, and Jordan doing this on the down-lo. Drying up Iranian money ='s the peace agreement between the PA and Israel that in my gut PDJT is working towards. The PA is ugats without all this money, they have to go legit if and when it all dries up, just like what happened to the IRA in Ireland after 9/11 and all the Irish Americans stopped giving and gave to charities to help fire-fighters, troops etc. These parties want it too, they are sick of this chit, and having to secure up all the time to deal with these douchebag ter-izt.

Netanyahu and the Saudis want to fight Iran down to the last dollar and last American soldier. Further entanglement in the Middle East is the last thing this nation needs.

Thanks jazusamo. Job one should be to snuff the mass-murdering head of the Hezbollah using a bunker buster; job two is to notify the southern parts of Lebanon that he's been capped and his HQ destroyed and that they have two hours to evacuate from the areas where the missile bunkers are found; job three, knock out the missile bunkers; job four, enjoy the light show as it is photographed from orbit and from drones.

Not a chance. That is the last thing Trump wants. That's why neocon warmongers Max Boot and Evan McMuffin despise him.

Muzzie maniacs armed with nuclear weapons are a great idea, I am sure. Not! If Iran gets nuclear weapons, Saudi Arabia will want them too. And Egypt. And... If you believe that Muslim nations with nuclear weapons are only Israel’s concern and pose no threat to America, then OK.
