China covertly offering North Korea missiles, aid to halt nuclear program
The Washington Times ^ | January 2, 2018 | Bill Gertz - Washington Free Beacon

Posted on 01/02/2018 8:28:23 AM PST by jazusamo

China’s Communist Party adopted a secret plan in September to bolster the North Korean government with increased aid and military support, including new missiles, if Pyongyang halts further nuclear tests, according to an internal party document.

The document, labeled “top secret” and dated Sept. 15 — just 12 days after North Korea’s latest underground nuclear blast — outlines China’s plan for dealing with the North Korean nuclear issue. It states China will allow North Korea to keep its current arsenal of nuclear weapons, contrary to Beijing’s public stance that it seeks a denuclearized Korean Peninsula.

Chinese leaders also agreed to offer new assurances that the North Korean government will not be allowed to collapse, and that Beijing plans to apply sanctions “symbolically” to avoid punishing the regime of leader Kim Jong-un under a recent U.N. resolution requiring a halt to oil and gas shipments into North Korea.

A copy of the four-page Chinese-language document was obtained by the Washington Free Beacon from a person who once had ties to the Chinese intelligence and security communities. An English translation can be found HERE.

CIA spokesmen had no immediate comment on the document, which could not be independently verified. A Chinese Embassy spokesman did not return emails seeking comment.

Disclosure of the document comes amid South Korean media reports that China is continuing to send oil to North Korea in violation of United Nations sanctions, prompting criticism from President Trump. Mr. Trump tweeted last week that China was caught “red-handed” allowing oil shipments to North Korea.

“There will never be a friendly solution to the North Korean problem if this continues to happen,” the president stated on Dec. 28.

Nuclear war is going to happen. Too many nuts have been allowed to have nukes. The only good thing for the US is if it happens when Trump, or someone like him, is president.

North Korea wants Nuclear Weapons cause they are scared of regime change?

Why don't China tell them to give the nukes up & they'll be North Korea's protector?

The document, labeled “top secret”...well that needs a name change now :)

I never believed for a second the article on here the other day stated China had stopped oil shipments to NK.

If there is to be war, let it be while fatso has a handful of these things MAYBE capable of being completely effective.

Better than waiting till they have 100s.

Are these missiles built on the missile technology Clinton gave the Chinese?

Every product in our markets is from China it seems. Why are we making this country rich?

We can make our own products.

I think our state department needs to make it perfectly clear to Xi and Putin that any attack by the DPRK on ANYONE will be regarded as an attack by their countries on the US and will result in massive retaliation.

Enough of the games.

Agreed, and now with the corporate tax lowered we should be making a lot more products here.

I thought it was odd how rapidly they developed long range missile tech in just a year or two. The spoon feeding is pretty apparent.

Right, because bribery has always worked so well in dealing with North Korea.

North Korea is China's problem - they've fostered this dynasty of madmen who've created a slave state on China's doorstep, with nuclear arms that can reach Beijing far more easily than they can any other destination and millions of impoverished people waiting to flood into China at a moment's notice. China's great-power pretensions are a joke until they fix the problem they've made.

Well, we’ve been pressuring China to act in any way possible to lean on the Norks to stop building nukes.

Maybe we don’t like this exact approach, but hey - if it works......

And you trust the Communist Chinese? If the Communist Chinese are our trusted good friends and allies, why in hell were they supplying weapons to the North Koreans covertly?

So they will help them with their long range missiles if only they don’t conduct any more tests?
