Too bad they don’t have a pipeline
Natural gas, cheaper and cleaner and domestically produced.
The left is always moving the goalposts.
Talking to a fuel oil serviceman at the supply house yesterday. He said his company’s tank trucks have been running 24/7 delivering fuel oil with this cold snap. One driver gets out another gets in. 3 shifts.
The Newburgh terminal on the Hudson is/was icing up holding up the barge deliveries.
It’s global “whatever the hell we need” to justify taking more of your money and freedom.
They can’t predict the weather one day, hell one hour sometimes, out. Yet they are dead sure we will be under water or something in 10 years.
It can, however, be laughed at.
Never underestimate both the scientific and intellectual incompetence of your typical “climate change researcher”.
I remember one time, back in the late-70s/early 80s (I cannot remember the exact year), there was ice along the shoreline of the Bay at the Virginia Beach end of the Chesapeake Bay-Bridge Tunnel. It was weird. There was no wave action - just 100+ yards of ice more than one inch thick, stretching away from the shore.

I believe that most New Yorkers oppose pipelines. Oh well...
Why would it cost more just because they are late in their deliveries? Price gouging?
Besides their dislike of pipelines, they probably also believe that globull warming was going to mean they needed no inventory of fuel oil.
Repeat after me...NO PIPELINE...NO PIPELINE...NO PIPELINE! People that dumb deserve to freeze IMO!
As if people up north didn’t know winter was upon them and called the delivery truck.
Here we go again. Economic illiteracy coupled with emotions.
People instantly revert to price gouging arguments.
Here it is. It costs more, far more to serve customers with commodities in times of crisis. Plus, the server is often unable to take care of his own needs as he’s busy serving others.
Finally, in real crisis, it makes simple economic sense to raise prices very high. People buy what they need, not what they want.
Let’s take heating oil. Last week, it cost $1 a gallon and you need to buy $100 gallons for the next two months. Pay $300. This week, supply is down due to the cold and the “crisis.” The price rose to $4 a gallon. You need 25 gallons for the next 2 weeks at which point the “crisis is over and the price drops back to $1. You spend $100 and get two weeks supply.
Since heating oil is hard to transport and deliver during the “crisis” you only buy what you need. This is more expensive, but it’s self limiting.
If you and 50 others buy 300 gallons and the supplier runs out, 200 other customers freeze and die. If you each buy 25 gallons, everyone is warm and toasty until the problem is over and the price decreases back to normal levels.
In times of “crisis”, price gouging is good and proper.
I do not believe there are ANY pipelines that deliver heating oil. The reason we people in the northeast heat ours homes with this energy source is because the only other choice is propane, wood pellets , electric or cord wood.
There is no pipeline in front of my residence in NH. There never will be because I live in the country and houses are spread too far apart. The natural gas pipeline stops at the local high school about 3 miles away.

Vast amounts of fuel can be saved if an industry that will mass produce huge amounts of thin, flexible aerogel insulation begin production ASAP.
Everybody wants this stuff. NASA is at the head of the list.
It insulates so well that 3mm of it insulates as well as several feet of fiberglass.
It can insulate homes, freezers, ovens, cars, etc. From extreme cold to extreme heat.
It would slash home heating oil consumption by a lot, which would seriously drive down the cost of other petroleum products.
A multi-billion dollar industry is just waiting to happen.

There is no ice. New York is underwater now anyway. Doesn’t matter.
I thought aerogels were brittle not flexible. Last time I saw any if you touched it too hard it would disintegrate
