Few Notes from the text.
As the [Moderator] had mentioned, today we would like to discuss the Trump administration’s implementation of the 2016 Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act, which, as many of you know, was passed in December of 2016. We’ve worked very hard over the last year to establish this new program and look forward to discussing it with you today.
In the executive order announced today, the President sanctioned 13 human rights abusers, kleptocrats, and corrupt actors, and the Treasury Department has designated an additional 39 affiliated companies and individuals. I know that you have the press release by now with all the details, and I’ll touch on just a few names.
By virtue of the fact that OFAC sanctions not only block all assets under U.S. jurisdiction, meaning held by U.S. persons wherever located, but also prevent U.S. persons from dealing with persons designated today, to include individuals or companies. That effectively shuts out – given the dominance of the U.S. financial system, it effectively shuts out many folks from the international system.
And Linda, along with “The Flake” got to hear Trump ask them why they seemed so intent on not bringing the best possible people to their country - which they couldn’t answer because the’d sound just like Crazy Nancy trying....

The Upstate votes conservative, while the coast and the Charleston area go liberal. Several counties in the Upstate have declared Graham persona non grata. Upstate is made up of 10 counties that swing the state conservative in presidential elections.
