Internet sale tax collection is impossible.
Amazon and Walmart and Office Depot and such can easily collect state taxes on sales to sites with a specific state.
Ebay and other such sites where there are an infinite number of small vendors can not. I frequently purchase items on ebay shipped from Hong Kong and other such locations. It is not possible to collect taxes from foreign sites. This is especially true of the Etrogs vaunted tariffs
Perhaps that’s because you are buying through the FBA system, and the seller who is delivering things to Amazon has some kind of a presence in your state?
People don’t even understand natural born citizen.
It means one is naturally a citizen because one cannot be anything else.
If one is not born here of citizen parents then other citizenships, loyalties and allegiances arise.
Children of foreign nationals and the foreign born are exactly who the founders were excluding.
Good. I live in a warehouse State. I’m tired of subsidizing those who don’t.
“Subsidizing”?
Rather than calling for the elimination of these taxes?
There are some things, like the original understanding of “natural born”, in the Constitution that warrant debate and discussion.
But much of the Constitution is reasonably clear where the feds have clearly violated to the point where about 80% of the feds is unconstitutional.
It’s OUR job to do everything we can do to dismantle this unconstitutional 80% portion of the feds and restore our Free Constitutional Republic.
Cities in San Diego county impose sales taxes. It definitely influenced my choice of bookstore and restaurants. The El Cajon Harley dealer imposed sales tax based on street address for a vehicle purchase.
You can program a smartphone to charge the tax as it applies to the address. Remit the tax to the state IRS and they can distribute the correct amount to the locality.
Why should brick and mortar businesses be at a disadvantage over Jeff Besos’ Amazon. Heck, so many shops have closed I would tax Amazon double.
So when all the shops in your neighborhood close down because they are at a disadvantage to Amazon will we even be able to afford police and fire departments?
The Kenyanesian Usurpation was devastating.
We may never recover.
Agree and look how judge Roberts slid Obamacare under the rule of law by calling it something else.
That will basically cause small websites to shut down because they will not have the resources to determine taxes for the thousands of tax districts in the nation.
Eventually physical stores will hardly exist. Most of what we buy will involve online sales. In fact that is already the case for me except for food and sundries.
Thus they will have to allow taxation of the internet. It is just a matter of when.
There seems to be quite a bit of “they must pay their fair share” (with regards to retailers and consumers) in this thread.
Based on left-wing precedent, of course. Anything free market must be decimated.
I noticed that. There was a USA before the Marxism crept in, and we don’t have to perpetuate the Marxism or give credence to its perpetuation.
Quick google search:
In 2014, there were 9,998 tax jurisdictions in the US.

Indeed so. Or force some into the “dark web”.
Yes, it is not fair for the B&M retailer. I have purchased guns locally at a higher price to simply support the local retailer. However, most purchases were online to cut out the sales tax. Ammo shipping costs versus local tax were always determined. But if the cost was close, why not take the front door delivery.
