'Lost' Cronkite broadcast reveals 180-degree war flip

But buried in the dusty archives of CBS News was another Cronkite report from Saigon broadcast days earlier – nearly two weeks earlier to be exact. The “lost” Feb. 13 clip, shows Cronkite had a much different and unambiguous view of the recent Tet battlefront immediately after it was over.

“First and simplest, the Viet Cong suffered a military defeat,” he reported. “Its missions proved suicidal. If they had intended to stay in the cities as a negotiating point, they failed at that. The Vietnamese army reacted better than even its most ardent supporters had anticipated. There were no defections from its rank, as the Viet Cong apparently had expected. And the people did not rise to support the Viet Cong, as they were also believed to have expected.”

WASHINGTON – A newly discovered CBS News clip broadcast by Walter Cronkite while still in Saigon following the Tet Offensive reveals the influential newsman had a much different perspective on the battle than he expressed in the history-making commentary he delivered after returning to New York days later.

Anyone who had reached the age of awareness when Cronkite delivered his famous live editorial Feb. 27, 1968, knew the significance of what “the most trusted man in America” was saying: The U.S. had lost the Vietnam war. President Lyndon Johnson’s famous reaction told the story: “If I’ve lost Cronkite, I’ve lost middle America,” he is reported to have said.

“Tonight, back in more familiar surroundings in New York, we’d like to sum up our findings in Vietnam, an analysis that must be speculative, personal, subjective,” he said in opening his brief closing report. “Who won and who lost in the great Tet Offensive against the cities? I’m not sure. The Viet Cong did not win by a knockout but neither did we.”

I wonder who wrote the check that changed his reporting? How big a check was necessary to purchase Cronkite? Or was it pictures of Cronkite with dead hookers or naked children?

If that is the case he is a coward. 54,000 young Americans died many horrifically. Piss on Cronkite.

Ol’ Uncle Walter was a treacherous old Rat.

Indeed he was: A speech by Walter Cronkite - United Nations, national sovereignty and the future of the world upon receiving the Norman Cousins Global Governance Award, on October 19, 1999, at the UN Delegates Dining Room

. . . "It seems to many of us that if we are to avoid the eventual catastrophic world conflict we must strengthen the United Nations as a first step toward a world government patterned after our own government with a legislature, executive and judiciary, and police to enforce its international laws and keep the peace. To do that, of course, we Americans will have to yield up some of our sovereignty. That would be a bitter pill. It would take a lot of courage, a lot of faith in the new order. But the American colonies did it once and brought forth one of the most nearly perfect unions the world has ever seen. . . . ."

Effing Cronkite was a treasonous bastard.

So did the deep state get to CBS and Cronkite and bury the reality report!

There was no check needed. Cronkite was a leftist politically although he worked at concealing it in his TV broadcast. By the time of Tet his sympathies were with the antiwar protesters.

His summation of TET 68 is partially correct, but how they failed wasn't detailed.

They may have 'intended' to stay in the cities. But, I do remember my unit (199th Light Inf) going into the center of Saigon to the Cholon district and kicking their behinds out of their entrenched HQ in the Phu Tho racetrack and over the next 3 months playing hopscotch chasing their remnants all the way over the Cambodian border at Tay Ninh.

http://signal439.tripod.com/redcatcher199lib/tet.html

The Gyrenes did the same at Hue up north kicking asz and sending them packing back over the border in pieces.

(Uncle Walter Goes) Waltzing With Bears

Well my uncle Walter goes waltzing with bears;
It’s a most unbearable state of affairs.
Every Saturday night he creeps down the back stairs;
Slips out of the house and goes waltzing with bears.

Chorus:
He goes wa-wa-wa-wa-wa-wa- waltzing with bears,
Raggy bears, baggy bears, shaggy bears too.
And there’s nothin’ on earth uncle Walter won’t do
So he can go waltzing - wa- wa- wa- waltzing,
So he can go waltzing, go waltzing with bears.

I went to his room in the middle of the night,
I tiptoed inside and I turned on the light;
But to my dismay he was nowhere in sight,
‘Cause my uncle Walter goes waltzing at night.

Chorus:

Well I bought uncle Walter a new coat to wear,
But whwen he comes in it’s all covered with hair.
And lately I’ve noticed a couple new tears;
‘Cause my uncle Walter goes walting with bears.

Chorus:

Well we said “Uncle Walter why won’t you be good”
And do all the things that we say that you should?
We know that you’d rather be out in the wood,
But we’re afraid that we’ll lose you, we’ll lose you for good.

So we begged and we pleaded: “Oh please won’t you stay”
And we managed to keep him at home for one day;
But the bears all barged in and they took him away.
Now he’s dancing with pandas, we don’t understand it;
The bears all demand at least one dance a day.

Chorus:

Well my Aunt Matilda is mad as can be,
‘cause she says that “Walter won’t go waltzing with me.”
So she took her fur coat and remodeled it so that
She could go walting and Walter won’t know.

Chorus:

(Assuming that bears refer to Soviets and “uncle”Walter’s fondness for them)

Too many of the “anti-war” protestors were pro-Viet Cong/pro-North Viet Nam/anti-American as Jane Fonda proved beyond doubt.

Tet 1968

On May 23, 2016, Obama visited Communist Vietnam most likely to thank the Communists for making it possible for him to be elected President of the United States. For you see, without the Vietnam War and the 1968 Tet Offensive, Obama might still be a Community Organizer and hanging out in Chicago bath houses, but the “Butterfly Effect” of the 1968 Tet Offensive made it possible for Barack Hussein Obama, a homosexual Muslim Communist, to be elected to the highest office in the land.

During the Vietnam War, the 1968 Tet Offensive resulted in the annihilation of Viet Cong units throughout South Vietnam and was a disaster for the Communist insurgency; it never recovered from its loses. This Tet Offensive was a coordinated “Do or Die” attack by every Viet Cong unit in South Vietnam on the night of January 30 and the morning of January 31, 1968 that simultaneously struck every South Vietnamese City, village, and military installation in an attempt to win the war in one country wide attack; they failed and they paid the price for their failure; they died.

The war was carried on after Tet 1968 by invading North Vietnamese, and North Vietnam could never move sufficient troops down the Ho Chi Minh Trail to ever hope to defeat the United States effort in South Vietnam, so they resorted to another Communist tactic; they lied.
1968 was a Presidential Election year in the United States, and the Communist Party USA attempted to use the Tet Offensive to influence the election by claiming it was a Communist victory and the war was lost. This American Communist Party organized an anti-war movement and assembled enough strength through this movement to seize control of the Democrat Party that summer during the 1968 Democrat Convention in Chicago.

These Communists attempted to nominate a Presidential candidate who would end the war and they failed, but the Communist Party USA still retained control of the Democrat Party, and this Party managed to elect enough Leftists to Congress to cut funding for the Vietnam War and the war was then lost, so in this way the 1968 Tet Offensive was indeed a Communist victory.

After using the Tet Offensive to gain control of the Democrat Party, the Communist Party USA never lost control of the Democrat Party, and when a few decades later they managed to elect an avowed Marxist Communist, Barack Hussein Obama, to the Presidency of the United States, it made the 1968 Tet Offensive the greatest Communist victory of all times.
