"The decades-long friendship of Red Sox greats Ted Williams, Bobby Doerr, Dom DiMaggio and Johnny Pesky was immortalized in David Halberstam’s classic “The Teammates: Portrait of a Friendship.”
Yep, it was just me and these four LEGENDS of Baseball, alone, at 1:00AM, in the cold.
Ironically, my Mom hung out after a game in 1941 (vs the New York Yankees) and got all of their autographs, and Yankee Joe DeMaggio's too!)
Just like her back in '41, I felt perfectly safe! :-)
