The University of Colorado is teaming up with 12 other North American research universities with a common goal: tackling climate change.
The University Climate Change Coalition bands together 13 campuses and university systems from the United States, Canada and Mexico to work with their respective communities conquering climate-related challenges.
The coalition plans to spearhead local and national action in areas such as climate modeling, regulation and policy solutions and more, CU said.
In 2015, the U.S.-based universities of the coalition accounted for nearly a quarter of environmental research done by all U.S. institutions, according to data collected by the National Science Foundation.

degrees in environmental science are big here on the eastern shore of maryland... we are debating the placement of windmills off the shores of Ocean city... our bay never receives a healthy report, yet keeps feeding us.
Be advised that the definition of Boulder by the locals is “34” square miles surrounded by reality”.
Boulder and San Francisco battle each other for who is the most liberal town in America I guess Asheville North Carolina is a close third. Boulder is insane I was there this past summer nobody has more than 5% body fat in that town you are required to run 5 miles a day minimum you are required to bike 50 miles a day minimum just to live there and if you ever sell your house you can’t afford to buy another house you have to leave the city. Google has another headquarters or sub headquarters there or whatever and is buying up houses left and right the housing prices are insane the food prices are insane.
Shouldn’t the first step be to eliminate ALL Carbon Based Energy use at this University? Disconnect this school from the grid NOW!, Ban All Vehicles, Permanently remove any and all fossil fuel machinery. Let them all have people powered generators for electricity and heat.
“Professors” again?????...not again.
So-called “professors” are at it....again.
Liberalism destroys everything it touches....even “professors”.
I was in Boulder during the campaign. As I was doing the tourist thing on Pearl Street, I sensed that if I had worn a MAGA hat I would have had the stuffing kicked out of me.
At least I would have had to listen to some very harsh language.
Looking for a fat federal grant I’ll bet!
I have a way they can contribute to the cause.
Close the university.
Fire all the professors.
Demolish the buildings.
Imagine the annual reduction of annual carbon emissions!
My eyes tear up with joy just thinking about it. :-)
I believe in global warming but I wish the real reasons for it would be at least acknowledged. Over population, urban sprawl, and accelerated drainage of urban streams to prevent flooding. The last is also effecting clean water availability. I don’t want to write a thesis, but increased humidity results in rain and slower drainage allows water time to soak into the ground, eventually reaching the aquapher. Think strategic not tactical when dealing with the environment.
