Conservative model, actor, and California Congressional candidate Antonio Sabàto Jr. made an appearance on Wednesday’s edition of The View to discuss a wide range of political topics, so it was only a matter of time before things veered toward the hot topic of the day, immigration.
Sabàto is an outspoken Trump-supporter who happens to be a child of Czech and Italian immigrants who legally brought him to the United States when he was 12 years old, but that didn’t stop Joy Behar and the other hens on The View from trying to use that against his positions on border security.
“Let me ask you another thing that is difficult for me to understand,” said co-host Sunny Hostin. “We’ve talked about your family having to hide their identity during the Holocaust in Czechoslovakia, and we’ve talked about the fact that you came here at 12 years old from Italy speaking no English, and this country embraced you. You call yourself an immigrant, but you’re in favor of the wall being built, being paid for by the American people and keeping other immigrants out of the country much like yourself.”

Sure, agree with you ideologically... but the left has gained so much by making incremental gains. The right seems to be the party that only settles for ALL of what they want or they go home with their marbles crying. We being purists, the left will continue to win if the right’s strategy is Hail Mary passes only. We don’t have super majorities.

Not having TV, I only see her on the occasional youtube video. She’s a female equivalent of Lemon. i.e. a random person off the street that seems to think we should respect any political opinion they have.

I don't know Joy, what qualifications did Al Franken have? Or Frederica Wilson? Apart from being imbeciles, I'm not sure either of them were any more qualified than, say, Carrot Top.
The only "qualifications" needed are, or at least should be, being an honest, decent, law-abiding, patriotic American. Unfortunately, there's probably less than 10% of the current Congress (and indeed, the entire federal government) that meets those criteria.
And he is still good looking.
It's difficult in a conversation to really question the other person's premises, but it can be vital. So much of what they say, and how they say, is based on their own fantasy world. Simply trying to answer them can often play into their twisted view of reality.
Jordan Peterson is really good and questions premises. His interview with Cathy Nixon (if I remember her name right) was masterful. She kept saying, "So, what you're saying is ..." and he kept saying, "No, I'm not saying that at all."
Joy Behar is similar. She think that opposing criminals is the same as opposing immigration. Get a clue, Lady!

I see where Cheerio is coming from when after the last 16 years we have seen the Republicans happily implement tragic long term policies as long as they can claim, "We succeeded in stopping it from being as tragic as the Democrats wanted it to be!"
However, I see this as something entirely different. The shoe is now on the other foot. Building a wall and ending chain migration and lottery VISAs will significantly help shape the future immigration into the U.S. If we have to allow 2 or 3 million DACA recipients to stay, it is not great but is well worth the trade off.
