So much stupidity to unpack in a single sentence.

"Call yourself an immigrant" - he doesn't need to call himself an immigrant, he is an immigrant. An immigrant is someone who enters a country legally, following the immigration laws. This is in contrast to non-immigrant illegals who simply violate laws and enter nations as they please.

"keeping other immigrants out of the country" - the Border Wall would not keep other immigrants out of the country. It would keep those who wish to enter illegally out of the country. Such people are not immigrants. They are people seeking to break US law by entering illegally.

"much like yourself" - illegal aliens are not much like legal immigrants at all. Legal immigrants enter following the laws passed by the citizens of this nation, and are expected to become useful and productive contributors to America while they are here. If they intend to remain permanently, they can work toward US citizenship. Illegal aliens break US law as their first act on US soil - they demonstrate that they have no respect for our laws or the US citizens who pass those laws.

Good dissection.

It's difficult in a conversation to really question the other person's premises, but it can be vital. So much of what they say, and how they say, is based on their own fantasy world. Simply trying to answer them can often play into their twisted view of reality.

Jordan Peterson is really good and questions premises. His interview with Cathy Nixon (if I remember her name right) was masterful. She kept saying, "So, what you're saying is ..." and he kept saying, "No, I'm not saying that at all."

Joy Behar is similar. She think that opposing criminals is the same as opposing immigration. Get a clue, Lady!
