Corporate America is taking on the country’s most powerful gun lobby group. In the wake of the mass shooting in a Florida high school last week, companies are dropping their partnerships with the National Rifle Association (NRA), which touts 5 million members. According to a list compiled by ThinkProgress, an advocacy organization, there are at least 22 corporations, including car-rental companies and financial institutions that have been offering discounts to NRA members. As the #BoycottNRA movement picks up steam, some companies have cut ties.

Boy, are these companies ever going to be embarrassed when they find out those thousands of emails threatening a boycott were done by a few dozen people who never used their services in the first place

In other words, they are cutting ties with the US Constitution, because the NRA is basically set up to preserve our constitutional rights. People need to make that point.

Glorifying violence, training kids to shoot "people" with no thought for their humanity, blurring the distinction between fantasy and reality? Blame movies, TV, video games - THEY are the ones doing that. There were far fewer school shootings when we had virtually no gun laws.

This will not end well for anycompany that contests NRA members and our organization.

The membership includes the majority of the military as well as a huge civilian component.

I see this as a corporate opportunity to rid these corporations of the liberal gunophobe lefties in their executive board rooms. Clean house time for these companies.

Apparently avis did too. That covers all major providers. Screw them all. I am cutting ties even if it means taking off airport shuttles to other brands. This is insane.

Seems these companies aim to punish the members by taking away discounts, not the NRA organization itself. Stupid is as stupid does.

This NRA Life Member (and quite possibly my family and many friends), who travels quite a bit, will keep this info in mind, thanks!

We have choices when we buy things.

Hmmm, maybe I should send the NRA an extra check...
