After that debacle on CNN, decided to renew NRA membership.
Dear Ch, Thank you for giving LifeLock the opportunity to help protect you. We have processed your cancellation per your request.
ear CH,
You are now a member of Americas oldest civil rights organization. It is great to have you in our corner! As an NRA member, you are defending your Second Amendment rights and promoting gun safety across America.
I read that Amazon had NOT messed with the NRA affiliation.
“NRAs incessant mailings and fundraising surveys are too much, becomes a nuisance.”
That’s why we dropped membership a few years ago. That money they’re spending on advertising could better be used elsewhere.
If their mailings to me are too excessive this time, I think I’ll try changing my mailing address for them to “General Delivery”.
People touting the boycott, weren't spending money with the companies they were pressuring. They just liked the idea, and could be "supportive" of their cause, AND "inflict punishment" on those they deemed unworthy, all at no cost to themselves.
However, NRA members do spend money. They see companies pulling out of NRA agreements, so they go to a competitor. Those are real dollars lost temporarily, and customers lost on a more permanent basis. On top of that, NRA members have a "mess with one of us and you're messing with all of us" mentality.
That doesn't bode well for companies jumping on the bandwagon. Ask Target, or JC Penny. See how it's worked out for them.
I have never been a member. I will sign up next week.
