I have little time for Mitch McConnell but to imply that he had a part in killing them off is a bit absurd. Akin’s and Mourdock’s political demise was due to their inability to keep their brain and mouth engaged at the same time.

I do, and they tried to make something of it, but as there was no possibility of unseating him, they didn't put in the usual effort that they do when they manipulate elections by their coverage.
People in MS will be so disappointed: they have nearly complete faith in incumbency to solve all matters.
