SWAT Officers Who Rushed to Scene of Parkland Shooting Without Permission Have Been Disciplined

Two Miramar Police Department SWAT team members, Det. Jeffery Gilbert and Det. Carl Schlosser, were off duty and training at Coral Springs when they learned of the shooting at nearby Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School last month, where 17 people were killed.

Instead of treating the two men as heroes, the SWAT's unit commander informed the two men that they had been temporarily suspended from their duties. They were unwanted, you see.

“Effective immediately you have been suspended from the SWAT Team until further notice,” wrote Capt. Kevin Nosowicz, the unit’s commander, in a Feb. 22 memo obtained by the Miami Herald through a public records request. “Please make arrangements with the training department to turn in your SWAT-issued rifle.” (Miami Herald)

Pat Franklin, a retired Miami Beach police detective, offered further explanation for the disciplinary action.

"You don’t want to let those guys loose into something that’s chaotic where they might take inappropriate action," he noted. "It is prudent to have them stand down unless there is a plan.”

A “plan”???

Typical moron’s running things today. SWAT has plans. This pinhead thinks a planning meeting is needed to respond.

As usual, when seconds count to save your life, the cops are in a meeting hours away.

Shhh! Quiet about Las Vegas or Republican baseball.

Only Parkland is discussed.

Because Democrats are sick gun control freaks.

I have mixed feelings on this. I understand the mentality of rushing to the sound of gunfire, but on 9/11, we had fire companies from all over the city rushing to the trade center without being dispatched or approved by Battalion. We also had PD officers doing the same. Had their been a follow on attack or a secondary device or attack, we would not have been adequately able to respond to the second scene. Consequentially, we had multiple mos killed standing in a staging area, that they didn’t need to be in. From the performance of the BCSO, these SWAT officers could have been the victims of a blue on blue shooting had they rolled up in plainclothes with AR-15s locked and loaded. But suspending them seems a bit harsh.

Morons....so much for “see something, say something, do something...”
Nope...that didn’t work for crap. I’ll stick to defending myself and loved ones with whatever means are necessary and available to me.
When seconds count, these stupid azzholes are hours away....to hell with em.

There might be a legitimate argument if those SWAT guys had actually jumped into the situation and taken action without coordinating with anyone on scene.

But to discipline them just for hustling up there to see if they were needed/wanted...that's completely messed up.

Obviously the NRA's fault. Somebody do something!

When seconds count the police are making plans.

And clearly, there was a plan. This looks intentionally screwed up. Too many things going wrong and being ignored at the proper time.

In fact, this is more of the same - no way we want someone not read in to the gag jumping in like the Avengers. They may end up killing someone it took years to incubate.

might take inappropriate action

...or like stand outside for 4 minutes while someone executes students. Didn't the officer say he was waiting for a swat team to get there?

Yeah, but they need to let someone know they are going there. Even if they were off duty.

I am speechless, but not surprised! We wouldn’t want them to go in harm’s way “without a plan” now would we? I mean it’s only a bunch of school kid being shot to death! And where is Governor Scott? Hiding under his desk?

The local LEO brass seem to have done everything they possibly could to make sure the pervert shooter was able to kill as many people as possible.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

There was similar conduct at the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando. Under orders, responding officers hung back outside as the shooting and bleeding continued inside. Eventually, the Muslim terrorist shooter killed himself.

As in the Parkland shooting, the eventual explanation for the stand back at the Pulse was that law enforcement was waiting for SWAT to arrive and were busy delivering aid to the many wounded who had gotten outside. When an on scene press conference was held a few hours later, it began with the Orlando police chief introducing and praising the leaders of local first responders and police agencies as if he had won an Academy Award and was sharing credit with other members of the production team.

We must accept a sad lesson from these and other episodes. The politicized incompetence and preening that distinguishes Leftism in office now infects many law enforcement agencies. The great virtue of conservatism -- dedication to mission and principles -- is now often missing from even elite law enforcement, who are so often led these days by political hacks reporting to Leftists in office.

Deep State Orders:

Kill all Witnesses.
Remove all heroes.
-—kill them if possible.
Continue to rape, kill, and organ- and adrenochrome-harvest
the children.
Protect the process to kidnap and enslave children as needed.
Report all conservatives.

It sounds like to me that there was an understanding with the Broward County Sheriff and that goofy school district that officers were not permitted to enter buildings if armed . These two responded when the Coral Sands PD were called in. I cover that in this piece
