I guess I missed something in this thread. How do you know the Miramar officers DIDN'T contact their HQ's? Please point me to that fact, because I do agree with you about that simple protocol.
Still, it's been stated here that the SWAT trainees were in training and why did they leave such training to respond? As I said, uh, because the Miramar trainers had access to comms? How else would the SWAT guys know? Smoke signals?
Not one single brave first responder should ever be given punishment for flying towards saving children, orders or not. There are some things that over-ride policy and orders. They and the Coral Springs police should be given medals just for their attempts.
The "Broward Cowards" Deputies should be fired and live their lives in shame, along with their PC Sheriff. If the School Resource Deputy who hid and the 3 responding Deputies who hid behind their cars should eat their gun, I'd have no problem with it. How else does a real man reconcile that he didn't even try. Forget the BS from the butch Commander. They were on scene first - she was later.
I'd also like to see some on the School District with their BS "school to prison" crap eat something. Won't go further. And then you have the FBI.
I agree with all of your conclusions. Apparently the stated reason for suspension was not advising their command nor advising BCSO they were responding. I absolutely believe they did the right thing, but technically the reason for suspension if the accusations are true, is legitimate.
