The theory goes that if you put a frog in a pot of water and slowly turn up the flame, the frog will not notice it is being boiled to death. This is exactly what is happening to free speech in our country, and President Trump’s greatest service to America might be the example of his belligerent refusal to stay in the pot. While appearing at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania Saturday night, Trump called Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd a “sleepy-eyed son of a bitch.”
Like most of what Trump does, there was a method to the madness.
The president, who has already announced his intent to run for a second term in 2020, knows that he must again pull off the hat trick of winning the rust belt states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
On Thursday, Todd had Leo Gerard, president of the United Steelworkers, on his MSNBC show to discuss Trump’s new steel tariffs — an interview that apparently did not sit well with steelworkers in Pennsylvania.
And so, with six simple words (“sleepy-eyed son of a bitch”) Trump told this important constituency that he is on their side, that it is them against the condescending elitists, that it is Delta House against the Omega snobs. In other words, calling Todd a SOB is great politics. Using the language of the steelworker is even better politics. And this, to me, is the most important thing… the boiling frog thing…

Also note that the left is free to attack anyone they don’t like with the most vile rhetoric imaginable, and the media will not say a word.
They even attack their children, does the media condemn them? Hardly.
Watching the media get their panties in an uproar over this has been a treat to watch.

I don’t think he gives enough credit to POTUS for his accuracy on branding Chuck Todd.
It wasn’t just a “political move”; it was a true description, IMHO.

As one who grew up in Western PA around steelworkers (and coal miners), what he said is polite compared to what some of them would say...
The press, especially the tv wing, has leveraged fame and celebrity as a means of wielding influence over the general public.
It is wonderful to see them get knocked out of their ivory towers now and then and sent plummeting back to the real world. When this happens their celebrity mystique is damaged, probably irreparably. They are suddenly revealed to be real people who are not above criticism and mockery.
It used to bother me when Trump did this, now I enjoy it.
Blue collar workers make more sense than liberal snobs.
That why I adored the lead character in “All in the Family,”
His liberal son in law struck me as downright insufferable.
Fist fights in the Senate and Congress would be good for America also.
Trump isn’t wrong. In fact what he said is downright too polite.

Recently and I just said to wife last night, Hang Over was a great movie because it did not try to tell us how to be only look at ourselves and laugh. Ah, throw in Weekend at Bernie’s for a trifecta from me.
Clint Eastwood movies defy PC culture all the time and always will.
Trump makes me cringe, but I love the guy, and in the end he’s really pretty openly accurate and gives it to everyone.
His comment on that Congresswoman’s IQ was unflinching.

Yeah, I'd like to see someone hit that feckless turd, Chuck Schumer right in his over-sized zeke, but I am left wondering if there is a GOPE Senator who has the stones to do it. Maybe they could “enlist” Tyrus, from the Greg Guttfeld show. Or maybe we could get Linda Graham to hit him with "his" purse!
The President is right, that's one creepy-eyed SOB (Democrat).
