Texas WILL be “Purple” sooner than we think. They have the cities, border and universities plus a nice flow of illegals at all times. If we lose Texas, game, set, match to anymore national election win by a Republican (not that Republicans are Republican anymore).

Local LE should be notified after the last federal paddy wagon is 50 miles away en route to a federal pen.

***************

Might well happen but don’t forget Texas has been in the
democratic side of the ledger from the Civil War until the
1980s when Karl Rove appeared. During that time Texas
became GOP on the state level from Gov thru all statewide
offices. It may change back but I don’t think it will be soon.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

“Texas has been in the democratic side of the ledger from the Civil War until the 1980s”

That was when there was such a thing as a conservative Democrat. Once the Rat/Socialists took over, there was a massive movement out of the Democrat party and a move to register as Independents and Republicans.

A lot of the conservative Democrats discovered that they had been in agreement with the Republican party for decades, and finally got out of the mindset of their parents and grandparents, that they always had to vote Democrat.

The movement started when they realized that although the Dem House members and Senators ran as conservatives, they voted with the socialist block in DC. They realized that they were Americans first and foremost, and that the Dems were out to destroy their nation.

I believe the momentum away from the Dems started during the Carter years, and really accelerated when Reagan was elected in 1980.

Orwell's 1984 was the pivotal years. That was the last year that the CPUSA ran a Presidential Candidate. Every election after that, they CPUSA endorsed the Democrat Candidate. They had a permanent seat at the ComDem table from that point on. That pattern was on their Wiki site until a few years ago. You have to go to the Wayback machine to find it now, if you can still find it. smile.

Here is the link to the page on the Wayback Machine listing ending in the 2012 election

The shift in Texas began earlier than that, my wife and I first voted for President in 1972. We proudly voted for Richard Nixon. Would do it again today under the same circumstances.

Simple military concept known as OPSEC. The good guys keep quiet about their plans. The result is surprise which makes their mission easier and safer.

Circa 1978 I flew into Dubai without a visa. In effect I was an illegal alien. I needed to get some most important papers to clear a shipment, a shipload, for our company in Oman. I was well aware that I would be sent back to Oman on the next plane. I explained to the most gracious custom officers my problem and informed them that a British Airways flight was coming in with the papers being hand carried by one of our companies men. He had a visa for Dubai but not a visa for Oman. I needed those papers immediately. I requested permission for the man to be allowed to walk over to quarantine area to give me the papers. They graciously allowed this.

The quarantine area was just a few short feet from the bar. I asked the officer if I could walk over and get a drink? He laughed and said no.

The point is I was an illegal alien and they threw my ass out of Dubai on the next flight to Oman.

“Senate Bill 4 does not apply to a school district or open-enrollment charter school,” states the handbook.”

Huh ?
The way I’m reading it, it certainly could.

In your face, Texas.

The Reconquista now owns the schools. Next, they’ll own the state government, and just like that, it’s over.

Yes, there were a few Republican in Texas prior to the 1960’s, but the shift began when the Vietnam War was going on.

I cannot assign a date to when TX went totally GOP, but Governor Perry certainly cemented it in place. I grew up 14 miles from the Perry's, knew both of his parents (his dad is dead). Have never met Rick, he went to a different school and was somewhat younger than I am.

Texas has never been a Leftist state. In the days of total Dem control, they were fiscal conservatives. Politics has always been a blood sport in TX.

Now, we are opposed largely by Leftist pockets in Austin, Dallas, Houston. They are a major embarrassment to the State.

My parents were Dems..but conservatives. There were no Republican primaries in Texas when I first became interested in politics. The Dem primary was the decider in all state and local offices.

Yes, I’m aware of all of that. Bet we would have interesting exchanges about this in person. My wife and I have long been involved in politics (in Texas and New Mexico), but at times living life takes a priority. We will be married 47 years later this month.

My father’s grandfather was born in the Republic of Texas.

This is on his headstone.
