House and Senate put Zuckerberg on notice: ‘You are the right person to testify before Congress’
tech crunch ^ | March 23, 2018 | Devin Coldewey

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been rather scarce lately, despite a host of woes besetting his company — but Wednesday he emerged from his cocoon to offer a limp apology, admit they had no control over data like that used by Cambridge Analytica, and that he “will happily” testify before Congress if he’s the right person to do so.

Well, Congress has taken him at his word. “You are the right person to testify before Congress,” wrote the leaders of the House Energy and Commerce Committee in a letter detailed early this morning. His capacity as CEO and “the employee who has been the leader of Facebook through all the key strategic decisions since its launch” make him the best person to testify.

Earlier this week Senators Klobuchar (D-MN) and Kennedy (R-LA) from the Senate Judiciary Committee specifically asked for Zuckerberg as well.

Senator Kennedy had sharp words (in a CNN interview) for Facebook and other tech companies that sent along some smooth operators to talk to them back in November: “We had one hearing — they all sent their lawyers. I don’t know what they paid them but they got their money’s worth, cause their lawyers didn’t say a damn thing.”

He and others are asking that the man himself to come along.

The Senate Commerce Committee also desires his presence.

At this point it would be pretty dangerous for Zuckerberg not to heed the call. Lawmakers don’t take kindly to captains of industry who send underlings instead of tackling major issues like this personally.

As the Open Markets Institute’s Matt Stolller points out in an insightful tweet storm, however, the shortcomings of Facebook’s privacy rules are only part of the story. Once Congress has Zuckerberg in the hot seat, they might consider taking on the idea that Facebook has been playing news organizations and publishers like a fiddle.

Congress doesn’t have the moral standing to be investigating anyone but themselves.

And this will achieve what exactly?

Virtually every website on the planet engages in data mining in one form or another.

Fakebook is no different. Want a facebook account? You have to agree to their terms and conditions.

And people are upset over this because they are either too lazy or too stupid to read and understand the terms and conditions that they agreed to so they could use the website.

Facebook, google, amazon, etc. are not government entities.

You don’t want everything you say or do online micro analyzed and used for profit? Don’t use their website.

Mark Zuckerberg is a left-wing progressive globalist pawn and a surveillance dupe of the CIA, NSA. From the facts, it is questionalbel whether he had anything to do with the founding of FaceBook.

It involves the inventor of the complex social network software, Leader Technologies, which took years of developement by teams of engineers, not some pimple-faced college kid in his dorm drinking beer. It involves a consortium headed by IBM, crafty investment bankers, the CIA and NSA, evil patent lawyers, patent theft, and intrigue.

This is the Rosetta stone for the hoax that is FaceBook and the face of Mark Zuckerberg...

When Zuck said, he “will happily testify before Congress if I'm the right person to do so,"
he was cueing his lawyers...........not asking for a Congressional invitation.

Nonsense. While he might be the right person to embarrass, others might be better testifying.

Zuck the F*ck is actually the Joseph Gpoebells of the magic negro’s liberal fascist movement. The Zuck worked to organize social media in Egypt, Libya and Syria so as to help Obama’s ME espionage called Arab Spring. (Obama, with Zuck’s social media help, grifted NATO into destroying Libya so that the captured Libyan arsenal could be spread into Africa with groups like Boko Haram. Chris Stevens was meant to fail in Benghazi.)

Zuck the F*ck is a liberal fascist enabler of the 1st water, a Utopian fascist working daily so that Big Brother will bring about a perfect world in a coming totalitarian state called ZuckObistan. Zuck should be behind bars.

Zuck really Sucks.

Any suggestion that Facebook was unaware of how their data could be used to target voters is false. The Obama campaign pioneered this approach in 2012 with the help of Facebook.

What some folks are really incensed about now is the fact the Trump campaign managed to accomplish the same feat in 2016, without the help of Facebook.

I saw this on Twitter. A guy downloaded all his data and found that Facebook had kept a record of all the calls he’d made on his cell phone.

https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/976368845635035138.html

I deleted Facebook from my phone. Also deleted the messenger app.

I still use Facebook for work, but I have a fake account for that.

Is it possible to delete a facebook account? I tried some time ago. I don’t remember the password and I don’t want to jump through the hoops of recovering it.
