You deliberately neglected to include the ignorant activists of all ages, and their supporters, (including the District School Board,) for demanding the conditions that caused the "setup" you describe: let's define murder and mayhem (on teachers and other students) as non crimes and the Justice Fairy will automatically define crime as being practically eliminated.

The old guy is too old to be remembering WWI, which was only about 10 years before the events of Cabaret, with disgust and cynicism for the German Nationalist sentiment of the song. Perhaps he is supposed to be thinking back to the German Romantic Movement in the 1880’s. He would have been young then, and would remember the idealism of that time, and how it led to the German Imperialism of the 1890’s and early 1900’s.

Meanwhile, back in the world of reality- These students simply don’t match the over-the-top praise by slate!
Those students have been impressively effective communicators, that’s for sure. They have got the art of public communication down pat, and the writer has a point that their school environment no doubt helped foster this.
(Of course they probably also had intelligent parents and stable, stimulating home environments...I wonder if she would acknowledge these factors.) Sadly like many performers their politics are totally screwed up. To me this is the latest episode in how the left has managed to take over the creative arts from top to bottom.

She is a great example; I used to mention that when Obama was in power. A FReeper posted a pic of her at some event (a book signing) with no crowd and even less media coverage - she was no longer needed, because the Kenyan Pirate was elected and had no intention of ending the war.

Pubic school teachers, under university and NEA direction, and supported by the MSM (like Slate), have been prepping them for decades to become anti-constitutional, Godless subversives.

The march was nothing but a ginned up, anti-American, communist, socialist ploy to deny and take away law abiding American citizen's constitutional civil rights. To take away our civil right to protect ourselves and our families.

BS on the education style, thank you. No 50s teen kid would ever do what these well trained Democrat stooges did. Not ever. We brought our guns to school for starters so we could hunt or target practice later.

As I wrote elsewhere, the job of educating children rests with the parents. Marx didn't like that idea:

Fast forward to that gun control 'rally.' Marx would be happy. Public school is serving a troika of societal needs such as training, day care, and indoctrination. Parents are happy with their kids getting 15 min of fame by pimping them out.
Within public education, the state stands in loco parentis during school hours. That means our forefathers were OK allowing the government to pour into their kids' heads whatever they wanted and in some cases strike their kids, because, well, that worked for them. And, I guess back in the day the NEA wasn't a front for mind-control and everyone went to work while some stranger formed your child. What a bargain.
But that's a trap. The issue isn't that we have the wrong types of people teaching or the schools lack discipline or we need more money in schools. THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM is that the rights of the parent have been surrendered when a parent sends his/her child to public school.
By extension, you have equally OK'd your child being forced to watch anti-gun films, receive Sex Ed at 6 years old, and attend environmentalist-driven field trips.
Oh sure, there is the School Board, PTA and other flaccid pseudo-levers of power handed to the parent. And maybe after months of fighting and blood, sweat and tears, Johnny doesn't have to go on the field trip.
In the end you cannot ignore the truth: you've surrendered your child to the state. This is a YUGE reason why we got this movement as currently configured.

All over the nation, disloyal communist organizers and agitators, many of them, sleeper agents, have been infiltrating our schools, training instead of educating.
All good Leninists know there is a "revolutionary moment" when the vanguard seizes power in the name of the workers and peasants.
That's why this is all happening.
