CHICO, Calif. — Chico police are looking for help to find a suspect they said tried to grab a 12-year-old girl Sunday night.
It happened in the 100 block of East 12th Street around 8:30 p.m.
Police said the girl was walking with her family's dog when a man tried to grab her. The dog started growling at the suspect and snapped at him, and the suspect did not harm the girl, according to officials.
Officers said the suspect ran away westbound toward Park Avenue.
Police got a call from the girl's mother about the incident.
The suspect is described as having dark skin, a thin build, a dark beard or goatee, long dark hair in a bun or ponytail, wearing a tan camouflage jacket and having strong body odor.
Anyone with information on the suspect's location should call Chico police at (530) 897-4911.

Dark skin usually means black but with a pony tail we can assume the sicko is Hispanic and likely an illegal.
I lived in Chico in 2016 for a brief period because it was on my bucket list. It’s a beautiful college town, lots of shady lined streets and the best urban park with walking trails along the creek.
My sister had gone to college there in the 80’s and I would visit often years after to go tubing down the Sac river in the summer and bike the lovely neighborhoods.
This time, before we left, I was shocked how the crime stats had increased. The town attributed to all the criminals let out of the jails by Brown. But what was most shocking to me was the homelessness.
Such a pity. Sending my blessings to Chico.

As it turns out, the young female is a liar: the story is a complete fabrication. See story in local newspaper. One might wonder as to the cost of providing all the police attention afforded this individual. One might also wonder what her next lie will be; who her next victim will be.
