Posted on 04/14/2018 11:02:39 AM PDT by rktman
Most of the establishment press's coverage of President Donald Trump's pardon of Scooter Libby has not mentioned Richard Armitage, the person who admitted that he first leaked allegedly covert CIA agent Valerie Plame's name to journalist Robert Novak in 2003.
This pervasive failure includes items at the Associated Press, New York Times, the Washington Post, and over 80 percent of Google News stories about Libby.
A 5:41 p.m. Friday AP story by Chad Day and Catherine Lucey also assumed that Trump engaged in nefarious timing:
President Donald Trump issued a pardon Friday to I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, suggesting the former top aide to Vice President Dick Cheney had been "treated unfairly" by a special counsel. The pardon comes at a moment when the president faces an escalating special counsel investigation of his own.
White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders insisted the pardon was not intended to send a message to the special counsel investigating Russian meddling in the 2016 election, saying, "One thing has nothing to do with the other." But critics noted the timing, coming as Trump fumes over Robert Mueller's probe, which he has dubbed a "witch hunt."
... Libby, Cheney's former chief of staff, was convicted in 2007 of lying to investigators and obstruction of justice following the 2003 leak of the covert identity of CIA officer Valerie Plame, though no one was ever charged for the leak. President George W. Bush later commuted Libby's 30-month prison sentence but didn't issue a pardon despite intense pressure from Cheney.

And of course Donald Trump can’t take time to tell the story, nor can any of his top lieutenants.
Just like GWB. Let the MSM-Democrats frame the story.
Do great things, say nothing, leave the explaining to your mortal enemies.
My congresswoman did the same yesterday, repeating democrat BS about Libby being a “leaker”. These people are stupid.
So it was a Trump metaphore that democrat FISA warrants and leaks are spun to trigger and investigation to attack others and get them on lying to FBI
This is how the totalitarian FBi and Mueller conduct business
My question is then why shouldn’t Trump end gun control and pardon machine gun owning? It is the same pattern in the Parkland shooting and
May I ask why people post the “non-print” links? I see those and they make me curious.
Richard Armitage was the sitting Deputy Secretary of State for then SOS Colin Powell. Powell was one of the first to know because Armitage told him when Plame made the accusation. Long before Fitzpatrick had any idea who it was.
Powell told him to not tell anyone else but instead let the entire administration, that he was a member of, swing in the wind for the entire time in years before Fitz ham sandwiched Scooter, only because his account did not match that of a friggin reporter.
Guess some folks like ads? I just do it since I got called out once for NOT doing it. LOL!
Do great things, say nothing, leave the explaining to your mortal enemies.
I'm sure it doesn't get past you, but even if Trump did a full court press to get the full complete story out, it still would not be reported correctly....
Trump corrected a serious miscarriage of justice. Works for me.
One day Armtiage will be in a interview and an actual reporter instead of a news reader will ask him about it. Should be interesting...
He has the greatest bully pulpit in the world.
Armitage=McMaster. Bush never got rid of his.
True, but only if the media reports honestly...
Yeah, not all of us do twitter.
Libby was busted in a perjury trap because he remembered some things differently than Tim Russert.
There was no underlying crime. Plame had no law protecting her identity. She worked at a desk. She continued the same job for two years. She only quit because she got a book deal which fell apart once it was learned Karl Rove would not be frog marched off to prison.
THERE WAS NO CRIME SO NO LEAKER.
This was a giant scam that the wussy W let go on without any kind of a fight.
Same as they are trying with the Russian collusion deal, which is not a crime.
If we had an honest press these fake but accurate investigations would never get started.
The Plames themselves leaked it. Their neighbors told the press that they told everyone in the neighborhood that they worked for the CIA. Also, Valery was never in a covert status that makes it a crime to leak.
Thats why nobody was ever charged with leaking.
I agree in that there are things seemingly left unsaid by the Exec Branch that I wish were said. But to my recollection, Trump does a better job at going over the heads of the Fifth Column, er, Estate, to reach the people than any of his predecessors, including Reagan--who was brilliant. That's why the more they attack Trump, the more popular he gets. Fifty percent approval and holding.
The culture war is no longer over ideas, but the money-making privileges of the Deep State its sponsor, the lobbyist-bankster-media-foundation class, who are in open alliance to keep looting the national treasury. It feels as if it's moving toward a shooting war.
At least, if Reagan said something publicly, the media would report it, even if they gave it a Two Minutes Hate. Trump can't count on even that. But he keeps getting it done. He doesn't back down--he just goes in by another door.
CIRCA 2017--Valerie Plame: Give me $1 billion and Ill put an end to Trumps Twitter account

Remember Valerie Plame Wilson? Shes the former CIA agent who got outed by Richard Armitage in the lead up to the Iraq war. She seems to be looking for a return to the media spotlight with her latest scheme to silence President Trump on Twitter. Her plan is to raise $1 billion dollars to buy a controlling share of the social media platform and then kick Trump off. Her GoFundMe page, which has so far raised about $3,000, says this is necessary to prevent nuclear war with North Korea:(Excerpt) Read more at hotair.com ...
AND THIS---Here's how Valerie and her husband tapped into a bundle of tax dollars w/ help from their pal, then-Secy Hillary.
BACKSTORY Sid Blumenthal was (is) the conniving Clintons' bagman---a $325,000 employee of the Clinton Foundation, hired to (gag) promote Clinton's presidential legacy. On the side, Sid promoted dubious foreign deals and schemes in which he had a financial interest many of them predicated on the fall of Libya.
Blumenthal was ambidextrous---emailing Libya foreign policy messages w/ one hand....his other hand firmly in the State Dept cookie jar.
In one (leaked) confidential e-mail to Clinton, Blumenthal was clearly colluding w/ onetime Amb Joe Wilson (Valerie's husband) to score a bundle of tax dollars.
GAME ON Amb Wilson pumped himself as a 'director' of Symbion Power---an outfit seeking millions of dollars in contracts from an obscure government agency chaired by Hillary....the Millennium Challenge Corp (MCC)....a notorious slush fund.
In September 2010, Hillary ordered MCC to award Symbion $47 million tax dollars for (cough) 'power projects in Tanzania.'
NEED TO KNOW ......how much of the $47 million tax dollars got to Tanzania after the players divvied it up among Blumenthal, Wilson, the Clintons, Obama?.........
FREEPER ACTION PROJECT--DO THIS NOW: demand the State Dept's Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) books be opened. We demand to know the financial details and the scope and dimension of individuals connected to these outrageous State Dept giveaways.........govt parasites like Blumenthal, Plame and her husband pocketing zillions at taxpayers' expense.
CONTACT CONGRESS HERE------http://www.contactingthecongress.org/
Millineum Challenge is also the State Dept agency Obama took $100 million tax dollars to give to Michelle to give to Morocco "to teach Muslim girls."
The catch is----the US-based Obama Foundation holds the $100 mill and will dole it out when needed. (waiting for hysterical laughter to die down)
...or that no one was prosecuted for the leak, as it wasnt illegal, and was in any case redundant.
