Well, we can clearly see Cruz wasn't the only person in that school with violence issues.

“....Law enforcement agreed for the most part to let school officials handle such delinquents through two counseling programs: PROMISE and the Behavior Intervention Program.”

“Law enforcement” is people. Who agreed?

Let’s guess the background of most of these “youths” and “teens.”

“””That new discipline policy took effect in 2013. It was at the vanguard of the Obama administration’s efforts to address the “school to prison” pipeline. Beginning in 2009, it opened hundreds of investigations or sued to force districts to adopt lenient discipline guidelines. This push was formalized in a 2014 “Dear Colleague” letter to the nation’s public school superintendents and board members that not only discourages student arrests, but holds districts liable for the actions of school resource officers.

After meeting with Obama officials in the White House, Runcie persuaded the Broward County Sheriff’s Office and Fort Lauderdale Police Department to agree to stop arresting students who committed misdemeanor crimes the district deemed “nonviolent” – including assault, theft, vandalism, drugs and public fighting. This included multiple offenders such as Cruz. Law enforcement agreed for the most part to let school officials handle such delinquents through two counseling programs: PROMISE and the Behavior Intervention Program.”””
...
“””In a related program, Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel also agreed to back off arrests of students who commit such crimes outside of schools, offering them civil citations and the same “restorative justice” counseling instead of incarceration, even for repeat offenders. Restorative justice is a controversial alternative punishment in which delinquents gather in “healing circles” with counselors – and sometimes even the victims of their crime – and discuss their feelings and the “root causes” of their anger and actions.”””
...
“””Within two years of adopting the discipline reforms, Broward’s juvenile recidivism rate surged higher than the Florida state average.”””

Commie bastards in the last admin caused this.

Well yeah, ignoring bad behavior or practices only encourage more bad behavior and practices, it does not change it, nor is it reduced.

When the associations of shame & disgrace were removed from teenage pregnancy, teenage pregnancy increased exponentially.

Not only is the bad behavior that was ignored increased, but new bad behaviors are introduced on a continually ongoing basis. Think Tide pod eating & condom snorting, even suicide.

When we first read about "studies" conducted by "education researchers" in my wife's NEA Today several years ago, we agreed the "damage" begin caused by the so-called "school-to-prison pipeline" was leftist codespeak for: "let violent juveniles, especially POCs, do whatever they please and pretend the problem doesn't exist."

Anyone who works with juveniles, especially young males (although increasingly, females as well) realizes pretty quickly that the only institution that's failing is the family, and that the "pipeline" from schools to prisons arises from within violent individuals, and not because of punishing them. Punishment is a consequence of behavior already manifested, not a source of it.

Violent juveniles learn very quickly when these kinds of programs are in force in their districts, and what behaviorists (who are honest) will tell you is that when you allow aggressive offenders to skate, you are reinforcing this antisocial behavior, NOT minimizing it.

One of the "common sense gun control reforms" that needs to be undertaken is the ending of the Promise Program and others like it.

Endless problems when you let feral youths run wild. The whole purpose of the Promise Program was to stop charging minority students with crimes to make it appear as though they were not actually committing crimes. Giulaini proved in NYC that when you take care of the small stuff, the big stuff will take care of itself. Promise should be renamed Fraud.

"In fact,” she said, “our district’s overall disciplinary incidents have dropped since we adopted the new policy and wraparound supports to students with behavior issues."

If you don't report problems, they don't exist. Head in the sand....

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

This is why I’m pushing this. Those policies should have been brought out when the dem media began with the attack on guns and the NRA

CONSERVATIVE TALKIES RESPONDING TO THE MEDIA’S WAR ON THE NRA, GUNS, AND THE 2ND AMENDMENT ONLY AIDS THEM IN CONCEALING THE POLICY FAILURES AS A NATIONAL ISSUE WHICH PERMITTED PARKLAND TO OCCUR
WAS PARKLAND AN IDYLLIC SCHOLASTIC SETTING OR A NIGHTMARE
Only an investigation will either dispel or prove that with those policies enforced. Students had all kinds of disciplinary problems (drugs, thefts fights etc) when attending classses there. Were scholastic standards lowered to fit fed DOJ grants ?
WHERE WAS THE DEMAND FOR FEDERAL AND STATE INVESTIGATIONS ????
It’ was not guns or the NRA It’s policies which had cops standing outside while killing was going on or some nut getting a gun the FBI knew he wasn’t suppose to... Plus a whole raft of other stuff
WAS THE DEMAND FOR STATE AND FED INVESTIGATION ON THE POLICIES WHICH CAUSED THIS NOT CONSIDERED BY FLORIDA POLS BECAUSE THE RESULT WOULD BE LAW SUITS AGAINST THE STATE ???

.
The teacher that was wounded and saw the gunman says it was a big man in heavy military armor that was doing the shooting, not Cruz.

Why do we keep hearing the obvious lie that it was Cruz?
