Inside the Night McCain Helped Doom the GOP Health Care Bill
PBS ^ | April 17, 2018 | Patrice Taddonio

From criticizing President Donald Trump for congratulating Vladimir Putin on his re-election in March, to saying earlier this month that Trump’s comments about withdrawing from Syria “emboldened” Bashar al-Assad, Arizona Senator John McCain in recent weeks has continued to uphold his reputation as one of the Republican Party’s most vocal critics of the president.

But what was perhaps McCain’s most dramatic gesture of dissent against President Trump to date came at 1:30 a.m. on July 28, 2017.

In the opening scene from the new FRONTLINE documentary McCain, which traces the Republican Party’s evolution across McCain’s political career, and how President Trump came to see him as a foe, the six-term senator’s colleagues reveal new details from the night of his deciding vote against the GOP’s bill to repeal Obamacare.

McVain screwed all conservatives... well all AMERICANS.... not just POTUS Trump. Republicans had been running campaigns against Obamacare for YEARS, and when they finally had the chance to get rid of it John McVain cast the deciding vote to keep it. What a scumbag.

Betrayal is what McCain excels at.
Heck, songbird sings for his masters on cue.

He really is petty and bitchy.

From a humanitarian stand point, I wish him an easy and soon transition to the next life. But from a politics stand point, I wish he'd F’n die asap.

He’s going out the same way he lived his life... a spiteful man and a small man; a man who was always GIVEN far more than he deserved. I’ll shed no tears.

He has behaved like a child ever since Dubya beat him for the nomination in 2000.

Some assert he was overrated before that, but that was when I began to notice him. So maybe he was always pouty.

Same here. It was obvious he took a disliking to George W and revealed himself the curmudgeon he is, an old bitter politician.

PBS is memorializing their favorite liberal republican in a documentary before he drops dead.

Funny how they NEVER make a documentary about a DEMOCRAT who challenged the democrat orthodoxy, such as Joe Lieberman or Zell Miller. For those people are to be reviled.

So telling.

During his last debate with Barry, aka his concession speech, he assured us that Bath House Barry, with his closeted life style, questionable lineage, supportive stand for the MB, and Marxist leaning was a “good man” and we were not to be “skeered of a President Obama. Leading by surrender!
