One of the planners from the 9/11 attack is re-captured?
And Germany is not happy that our allies in the YPG captured him?
Sigh. What is wrong with the world?

Its not the clearest writing (or the best translation) it says German politicians are not happy with the ISIS members captured by the YPG.
So it looks like theyre not happy with the ISIS members who were captured. But who would be.

I figured that it was not my old outfit Yuma Proving Ground.
It is the People’s Protection Unit in the Syrian war.

Yes. The YPG and YPJ are the Kurdish militia that began when ISIS took over much of Northern Syria. They were the first group to stand against ISIS, in Kobani (finally when it was about to fall to ISIS we gave air support and they held)
That morphed into the SDF (Syrian Democratic Force).
With our help (air support, artillery, weapons and some advisors) they have almost eliminated ISIS in Northern Syria. It would be finished except for Turkey’s attack on Afrin.

He is a dual German and Syrian citizen. Guess Germany thinks the YPG are bad guys. Headshake.

Germany does not want the death penalty in Iraq for their terrorist... imagine if Iran threatned us if we executed Bin Laden...

I wonder if the YPG could be talked in to turning him over to the United States.

(question!)
To: Red Badger
Yes, he is a German citizen and as they see it, the YPG are terrorists.
The YPG have never been terrorists. In spite of what is said about them by Turkey.
Germany helped create this mess. And their POLs are still not convinced that our “ally” Turkey is an unfaithful ally. Fatal Error.

There would be many leftist funded lawyers waiting for him in the U.S. or Gitmo.
I hope Pompeo and Trump have some smart alternatives.

The prisoner is not in Iraq, he is in Northern Syria.
You are correct, many men and women ISIS members have been executed in Iraq. And the sentences were carried out without delay.
I have not heard of that in Syria. Suspect some have been, but it is a totally different situation.
