Comey: If I could 'change time,' Anthony Weiner would never have 'been born'

Former FBI director James Comey said Thursday if he could “change time” so that Anthony Weiner had never “been born.”
Comey made the comment about the former New York representative during an interview with New Yorker editor David Remnick.
“If I could change time, Hillary Clinton wouldn’t have used a private email server,” he said, according to The New Yorker’s live tweets of the event. “Anthony Weiner certainly wouldn’t have a laptop — maybe wouldn’t have even been born.”
Comey announced just days before the 2016 election that he was reopening the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server, after emails related to the investigation were unearthed on a private laptop owned by Weiner, who at the time was married to top Clinton aide Huma Abedin.
Weiner’s laptop was the focus of a separate FBI investigation into his alleged sexting with a teenager.
Clinton allies have blamed Comey for Clinton's election lost, saying the letter to lawmakers announcing the reopening of the investigation ahead of November 2016 cost Clinton votes.
Comey has re-entered the spotlight in recent weeks due to the release of his new book, “A Higher Loyalty.” He said in an interview earlier this week that his assumption that Clinton would win the election factored into his decisions related to the email investigation.
In another interview Thursday on CNN, Comey would not answer whether he thought the U.S. would be “better off” if Clinton had won the election.

I think it is a bit funny that all of Hillary's downfall was instigated by her own helpers.

That’s a very odd thing for a former FBI man to speculate about. I would not expect such a person to hypothesize in public about an unsettled matter. I guess Comey is trying to be entertaining.
Its easier to get a time machine than for Comey to just do the right thing. Great moments in leadership.

This is the remarkable thing about this entire discussion. If Hillary had just accepted the State Department IT department, and never had a bathroom server installed. If Hillary had never ordered people to put classified on the unclassified emails. If Hillary had only concentrated on her job, rather than the Clinton Foundation.
If Weiner had only married a New York gal instead of an arranged marriage. If FBI folks would just do their normal regular job, rather than get all politicized. The list goes on and on.

You just know that somewhere in Hollywood someone is suddently fast at work on a spec script for a remake of “It’s a Wonderful Life” in which Weiner was never born... and with Donald Trump as the Mr Potter character. “Every a time a bell rings, Hillary Clinton gets her wings.”

It’s not funny or surprising at all. Hillary’s world view is informed by her corruption, arrogance and sense of entitlement. If she weren’t surrounded by a group of like-minded people she would not have gotten as far as she did. To paraphrase what Willy Sutton said about bank robbery, someone who wants to bring down Hillary should look at her team, because that’s where the corruption is.
