A 61-year-old Louisville, Ky., man was sentenced Friday to life in federal prison for transporting dozens of illegal immigrants in a scorching hot tractor-trailer, after which 10 people were found dead inside the truck last July, according to the Justice Department.

U.S. District Judge David A. Ezra of San Antonio sentenced James Matthew Bradley, Jr. to life in prison without parole, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced Friday afternoon. Bradley had faced the death penalty.

Shortly after midnight on July 23, San Antonio police responded to a call from the Walmart on Interstate 35 and found the tractor-trailer behind the store. Police found Bradley asleep in the cab and 39 illegal immigrants in a trailer that did not have a working air conditioning unit.

Of the 39 people found in the truck, eight were found deceased and two later died from injuries sustained from being in the overheated trailer for a prolonged period. About 20 people were in serious condition and eight others who were diagnosed at the scene with heat stroke and dehydration were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Sad for those that suffered, but
you pay your money, and take your
chances. Knowing full well the
consequences. If these people are
going to die, they may as well die
trying to right the injustices in
their respective countries. At
least then, it would be a Nobel
cause.

While this is certainly a tragedy the greater tragedy is that Mexico cares nothing for providing Mexicans opportunities for a better life without Mexicans having to resort to things like this.

He should have been sentenced for the illegal alien smuggling, not the deaths.

Go up the chain of command.
Who hired this mule? Who runs the operation?
Who did the riders pay for their passage?

Any border guards on the take?

They may not even be all Mexicans. Mexico does not like illegal immigrants from the south of their own border and wants to see them pushed through the country into America.

And how many times had he done it and gotten away with it?
It could be to the tune of adding hundreds or even thousands of illegals to our country that we’re now burdened with.

These people knew they were going to die. But it was worth it to them to go to a country that offered them hope of a better life. For them and their kids.

The same country that the left will tell you is full of hate, trash and racism.

If America is so oppressive, why don’t liberals want a wall too keep poor, easily oppressed people out?

If they were engaged in a legal activity when they died I’d have enormous sympathy. But they weren’t...so I don’t.

OO OOOO OOOOOO MISTAH CARTA MISTA CARTA

I know this !

The liberals that I know, all in NY and CT wouldn’t be able to exploit the cheap labor for their house workers. The ones that ride the carefully engineered public transportation from the barrio to the one bus stop in the rich neighborhood so they can get to work.

That’s why rich neighborhoods have a single bus stop.

I don't get this. Did he kill them intentionally--was it his plan all along? (And if so, wouldn't he have just taken their money and shot them without driving all that way?) Would his sentence have been that harsh if he'd, say, raped and murdered someone intentionally? Not in today's court system.

This is bad and awful and serious-jail worthy, of course--but why is this more serious than Charles Manson's sentence?
