Democrats target union workers who regret Trump vote
Rooters ^ | 5-4-2018 | Tim Reid

Like many union workers, Oberbroeckling voted twice for former Democratic President Barack Obama before backing Donald Trump and other Republicans in 2016.

Now he has buyer’s remorse - and plans to support the Democratic challenger to Rod Blum, the Republican congressman in this blue-collar, eastern Iowa district.

“Trump is for the rich,” said Oberbroeckling, 37, sipping a rum-and-coke. “Blum’s for big business. They said they were for the workers, but they’re not.”

That sentiment should encourage Democrats, who saw their once-reliable labor vote help send Trump to the White House after he vowed to revive Rust Belt factories with trade tariffs and ailing coal mines with environmental deregulation. Now - with coal still struggling and Trump stoking a trade war - many union workers have soured on the president ahead of November’s midterm congressional elections, the Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll shows.

So, they ask a Union Organizer in Zillinois about factory workers hating Trump???

This stinks of desperation to build a narrative, any narrative, that can create an impression helpful to Dems.

The Fall mid-terms will not be kind to the Democrats. They know it. They are desperate.

They have to try to offset Trump, because Black Vote abandoning them in 20-30% is a huge problem.

I don’t know what they will try if the Stormy narrative gets any more crusted and useless.

So then, lets ask this guy, and others, does he favor biological males in women’s restrooms, open borders , special rights for illegal aliens, rights for homosexuality, rescinding the tax cut he benefits from, the absurd world view on display at the White House correspondents dinner, creeping Sharia along with special rights for Muslims etc. Because that’s what he will get if he votes Democrat.

Trump is for the rich,” said Oberbroeckling, 37

He knows this is true because his union bosses told him it is true!

And who are the unions for? The workers?

Unions are for the unions. They do not even care about their own members any more.

Unions will support bringing in cheap labor via illegal immigration. Unions support Democrats and crony-capitalist RINOs.

Unions are used to placate workers by making them believe they have someone looking out for their interests. Unions have just become a bunch of money-making scams that provide no real value to society or the workers they supposedly represent.

Trump did deregulate coal. Coal may still be struggling from the Damage Obama caused. New tech is on the way to inexpensively clean smokestack emissions, which should help.

Trump has barely touched on tariffs. Trump drove a lot of corporate decisions by jawboning tariffs. I believe he will come through.

If you’ve been around for a long time like I have you know they run this same exact story for EVERY Republican President, even lame ones like the Bushes.
I bet they have a template where all they do is insert the President’s name.
And of course, they NEVER run a story like this for a rat President.

I suppose you will always have a few morons upset that Trump has not returned 50,000 autoworker jobs to Flint, Michigan in 18 months.

So who do all these workers work for? Is it maybe businesses? If businesses do better do they hire more workers at better wages? Maybe? How is it good for workers if their employer is struggling?
