Several African American graduates at the University of Florida are speaking out after a white faculty member forcibly rushed them off stage at one of the school's commencement ceremonies on Saturday. The students said they were observing a long-held tradition among black fraternities and "strolling" after getting their college degrees when the usher grabbed them and roughly shoved them along.
University of Florida President W. Kent Fuchs apologized after videos of the incidents went viral online.

And the weak kneed president of the university crawls to Twitter asking for forgiveness.
Irony, as usual, is thin on the ground.
‘We have dignity! Respect our intellect!’ they harangue us constantly with unilateral demands.
‘OK, we will. You’ve attended university and you are now ostensibly a) educated and b) an adult. Why, then, launch a Mr Bojangles routine?’
What isn’t shown on stage is the absolute din their idiot families make among the spectators. They hoot, holler, scream, etc. as if they’re at a football game.
Calling something a tradition doesn’t make it correct and doesn’t mean it isn’t disruptive.
Some people have been coddled for so long they believe they are above criticism.

So commencement has now become an event like Soul Train? Look at me!!! Look at my moves!!!
I recall the claim of some Hindu leaders in India, who claimed that burning widows at the funeral of the husband was tradition.
The English administrator said, “Very well. We also have a tradition. We hang people who burn widows. You go forward with your tradition, and we will proceed with ours.”
They want all the benefits of Western civilization, but do not wish to take any of the responsibilities.
Meanwhile white parents miss hearing their child’s name announced because the wild things are screaming
That is what happens when the quota warriors subsidize a worthless diploma for people who probably have no business attending a University
I watched the video. The black students were being disrespectful to everyone else there.
The last time I went to one of these, it took hours, and part of it was due do things similar to this, someone has to stop, take a selfie, clown to crowd, etc.
It is inconsiderate and disrespectful, especially if there is a large class graduating. I am all for people having fun and enjoying the day, but 10-30 sec. per student can make people grit their teeth who have other things planned.
“See, there is a claim of a “tradition” to dance around on the stage instead of walking up and respectfully taking your diploma. If you insist these kids get on and off the stage in a dignified manner, you’re racist.”
Furthermore, white graduates who take longer than absolutely necessary to cross the stage will henceforth be culturally appropriating the blacks’ rite of passage.
Didn’t they used to call that “shuckin’ ‘n jivin’”? For truth, there’s nothing new under the sun for anyone who’s ever been into American jazz.
Local high school graduations have become horrendous. Maybe white need to start making noise over black graduates names being announced
In this case their “stroll” intentionally flaunts custom and tradition.
It is a conscious act daring anyone to react in any way they can call racist.
They do the same thing on sidewalks and in the malls.
Lining up abreast and slowly “strolling” to block the walkways.

I watched the video. Nobody would make a big deal if it was two seconds where someone faces the crowd and waves, or takes a picture with the Dean. But some of those people were off on other parts of the stage, and the ceremony couldn’t go on until they were off.
If they are clowning around up on the stage with some professor and they decide to have the next person go up, is that person going to decide to cut behind the person getting the diploma and ruin their shot for family and friends?
It is, the way it appeared in the video, narcissistic, self-centered, inconsiderate and rude.
What is “permitted” is what will continue.

Something honestly, these kids I think are lacking.
This is why in reality separate dorms and graduation ceremonies is doing everybody a favor.
All of the fake students with their fake “studies degrees” who probably cant read their own diplomas much less do basic math who are only there as a taxpayer funded cash cow for the university will do nothing but disrupt the commencement for everybody else
Look at me, I’m special! Why? Because I’m BLACK!!!!
Maybe all the real students should just skip the ceremonies and let the gong show artists do what they want to do. After all, it's probably a miracle that most of them are "graduating" to begin with. And this is probably the last chance they'll have to prance around like that without getting fired.
The serious students should boycott until the administration comes to its senses.
