The White House says remains optimistic that a sit-down will take place between President Trump and Kim Jong-un, despite a flare-up in hostilities over joint military exercises the U.S. and South Korea are conducting.
Press Secretary Sarah Sanders told reporters Wednesday morning that North Korean outrage was par for the course and the U.S. was moving ahead with preparations for a June 12 summit in Singapore.
'We're ready to meet, and if that happens that's great. And if it doesn't, we'll see what happens. We're still hopeful that the meeting will take place and we'll continue down that path,' she said moments before on Fox & Friends. 'If it doesn't, we'll continue the maximum pressure campaign that's ongoing.'

North Korea never had any intention of negotiating or de-nuking.
The press will falsely accuse Trump of pumping up his “aura” and claiming that this was Nobel Prize worthy, when NOBODY on the Trump team said any such thing. It was entirely the hanger-on sycophant crowd.
But when the press claims this, I want them called out as the filthy liars they are; not politely pointing out the mild misstatement on their part.

The U.S. basically walked away from North Korea when John Bolton announced the other day that the U.S. wants to use the Libyan disarmament approach for North Korea. What foreign leader in his right mind would look at what happened in Libya and treat the U.S. as a sincere party in any negotiation of any kind?

Face saving in Asian cultures is important. Kim is not giving himself much wiggle room. The Nork population is unaware of the war games. They are living in a closed society. It’s the Nork generals whose opinions count. Perhaps Kim is afraid of them.
