In March 2017, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) successfully delayed for 11 days Senate ratification of Montenegro's entry into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). America's leading advocate for NATO expansion, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) responded by accusing Paul of "achieving the objectives of Vladimir Putin...of trying to dismember this small country."
"I repeat again," McCain said then, remarkably. "The senator from Kentucky is now working for Vladimir Putin."
Perhaps even more remarkably, though not very surprisingly, McCain is unapologetic about that accusation in his valedictory new memoir, The Restless Wave: Good Times, Just Causes, Great Fights, and Other Appreciations. "Senator Paul didn't appreciate that, and I'll grant that it was an intemperate thing to say," McCain writes, with co-author Mark Salter. "But it wasn't incorrect. He might not have worked wittingly for Putin, but he was doing exactly what the Russian wanted done."

He shakes hands with the devil, unfortunately he won’t be dying anytime soon
Weekend at Juan’s.
This is a BS story.
John take that thumb you used to save Obamacare and shove it straight up your
It must be nice to be able to read the minds of foreign government leaders like that.
Such an ability would be worth billions to the CIA...
I don’t always agree with Rand, but he’s 10 times the senator McCain ever was.
[ “I repeat again,” McCain said then, remarkably. “The senator from Kentucky is now working for Vladimir Putin.” ]
All the way to the grave, eh John?
All the way to the grave.
The Democrat from Arizona with an “R” next to his name.
Does Trump play golf with any senators besides Paul?
Only a seriously crazy person spends their last weeks on earth trashing people who could care less.
How much less could they care?
Its not incorrect to say that John McCain worked with the Vietnamese communists (and continues to work for them)
If this really is from John the McCain, and not his wife or daughter playing Mind Reader, then McCain is nowhere near the Last Throes of his disease. To my understanding, most deathbed worthy cancer patients with this type of cancer are not quite so ‘loquacious’ just prior to death. Most are being managed in a coma.
Maybe he’s not even sick with that kind of cancer, and has other reasons for laying low. I do not want to see any ‘Lazarus Act’ with McCain, revived and ready to continue stabbing the GOP in the back.
Nor was it incorrect to say that your opinion doesn’t matter, because you are dying.
UGH. bitter and wrong his whole life, nice legacy.
“Just as I worked for Ho Chi Minh in Hanoi, so it all evens out” he continued.
It’s entirely possible that he said something along these lines orally to the ghost writer, who then made it “loquacious.”
Brain cancer is affecting his judgement. We shouldnt to him for his sake and ours.
John McCain is writing is epitaph for his gravestone - I am and was always right.
