“Since this OIG report is ONLY about whether FBI/DOJ procedures were followed in the Hillary email investigation,”

And you know that this is the case because..?

On July 27th 2017 the House Judiciary Committee sent DOJ/Sessions a list of 14 issues that they wanted investigated. These include the Clinton Foundation; Uranium One; DNC collusion against Bernie; wiretapping of Trump; leaks; unmasking; the Fusion GPS dossier.

House letter to the DOJ here:

https://judiciary.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/072717_HJC-Letter-to-AG-DAG.pdf

On November 13th 2017 AAG Stephen Boyd informs Goodlatte et al that their letter had been forwarded to the IG and that he, Horowitz, could decide whether to expand his investigation. The Boyd letter also states that the AG had given the Goodlatte letter to federal prosecutors so that they could evaluate issues raised by the House committee.

Boyd/DOJ letter here:

https://www.politico.com/f/?id=0000015f-b85c-d93c-a77f-b9dfe5950000

So Horowitz was instructed that he could expand his investigation by late July. As were unnamed federal prosecutors. Assuming that Horowitz hadn’t already run across this criminal behavior while he was investigating the Hillary emails.

Because, of course, you are an insider who has read the report. snort.

No, it's because I've seen the two DOJ OIG announcements of interest.

The January 2017 announcement covers the handling of the Clinton emails and it covers several leaks.

The March 2018 announcement was about FISC items. Of course that investigation is not finished.

I don't know what you are "snorting", but it can't be good for you.

“No, it’s because I’ve seen the two DOJ OIG announcements of interest. “

Well there’s your problem.

A July 27, 2017 House Judiciary/Goodlatte letter to the DOJ requested an expansion of the scope of the investigation. The House thinking that this would require a second special counsel.

A November 13, 2017 DOJ letter from AAG Stephen Boyd confirms to Goodlatte that the House letter was forwarded to Horowitz so that he could decide whether he wanted to expand his investigation to include the 14 points in the House letter. Boyd also informs Goodlatte that the House letter was provided to senior federal prosecutors so that they could evaluate the issues raised in it.

And Boyd’s letter also contains this cogent paragraph:

“As you know, consistent with long-standing policy, the Department does not ordinarily confirm or deny investigations, and this letter should not be construed to do so. While this policy can be frustrating, especially on matters of great public concern, it is necessary to ensure that the Department acts with fairness and thoughtfulness, and always in a manner consistent with the law and rules of the Department.”

Okay there's your problem.

Boyd wasn't speaking for the IG. Horowitz does have a track record of announcing his "reviews". I gave you two examples.

Look, anything is possible. One can hope that Horowitz will cover more matters in this report release. But I don't see any indiction of it. We'll know within the next two weeks.

You are incorrect. Huber is not investigating anything or anyone. His charge by sessins involve REVIEWING three specific items sessions wanted reviewed. At least that is what the appointing letter to Huber stated. Only misinformed folks listening to that idiot mark bradman think that Huber is conducting this big criminal investigation along with the IG.

Did you even read my comment? If you did, you need to re-read it. That is not what I said.

My comment: "....It is my understanding the OIG Horowitz is doing the investigating....I may be wrong but I don't think Huber was part of the investigations themselves...."

Your response: "....Huber is not investigating anything or anyone...."

You say the same thing as I did and yet you claim I'm incorrect but you're not?

I have no idea who Mark Bradman is or why you brought him up.

My statement that you are incorrect goes to your statement that “Huber was brought on board to prepare indictments”.

Your statement is not correct.

Sessions letter appointing Huber specified three items he wanted reviewed and then report back to sessions. It did not state anything about prosecuting or investigating anyone.

Mark bradman is Sundance at CTH who continually is repeating the falsehood that Huber has been assigned to,prosecute people.

"...My statement that you are incorrect goes to your statement that 'Huber was brought on board to prepare indictments'...."

Well, now you've changed your tune. Because your original response to me was: "....You are incorrect. Huber is not investigating anything or anyone...."

I never said Huber was doing the investigating and yet you imply that is what I said.

And then you added this: "....Only misinformed folks listening to that idiot mark bradman think that Huber is conducting this big criminal investigation along with the IG...."

Again, I never claimed Huber was investigating anyone.

But it's easy to claim you're correct and everyone else is incorrect without proof.

So show "everyone else" the letter from Sessions about what he wants Huber to do.

Enlighten us "misinformed folks".

Ok, i can see where you would take exception. My statement to you was not as clear as it should have been so I concede the point and offer my apologies.

The Sessions letter is freely available in the public domain.

No apologies expected. Too many on FR lately want to start a fight instead. So thank you for being magnanimous about the confusion. Apology accepted.

"....The Sessions letter is freely available in the public domain...."

Where is this public domain you speak of?

Can you provide a link or some reference?

It would be nice to clear up the misinformation many people like me have about what Huber's job is.

Thanks.

Gowdy: It was not true?

Comey: That’s what I said.

Gowdy: OK. Well, I’m looking for a shorter answer so you and I are not here quite as long. Secretary Clinton said there was nothing marked classified on her e-mails sent or received. Was that true?

Comey: That’s not true. There were a small number of portion markings on I think three of the documents.

Gowdy: Secretary Clinton said “I did not e-mail any classified information to anyone on my e-mail there was no classified material.” That is true?

Comey: There was classified information emailed.

Gowdy: Secretary Clinton used one device, was that true?

Comey: She used multiple devices during the four years of her term as Secretary of State.

Gowdy: Secretary Clinton said all work related emails were returned to the State Department. Was that true?

Comey: No. We found work related email, thousands, that were not returned.

Thank you very much for this information. I will keep the link to this scribe.com website for future reference. It looks like a place where these letters and documents are archived.

But back to your point that Sessions wanted Huber to determine three things for him.

Are those three things spelled out in this paragraph of Sessions' letter?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I also find it telling that Sessions spells out that professional prosecutors do not divulge or signal their work until they are ready to announce the results of their efforts.

I am still of the opinion that Sessions is working hard behind the scenes but just not telling everybody the details of those investigations and efforts.

I believe he has been unfairly maligned by many on this site for not announcing his work to the public (Sessions is not a publicity hound like Holder and others before him) and for not dispensing justice out in a faster, Old-West-style-frontier-justice-hang-'em-now-and-hang-'em-high sort of way.

Unfortunately, our fast-food culture of getting a meal in 3 minutes at the drive-up window, has crept into our demands for justice.

But it is understandable that so many are mad because of all that has gone on for so long under the corrupt Obama regime. People are impatient by nature.

Again thanks for sharing your research. I know I am better informed now and hope that other FReepers find this information valuable, as well.

Yes, the three things sessions has Huber reviewing are the three you identified. While it does not appear from these documents that Huber was assigned to do anything beyond what is described, it IS possible that there are other secret documents assigning Huber to do more. That is unlikely however because it’s to the DOJs advantage to appear like they are doing more, not less. So my interpretation is that the docs speak for themselves.

Boyd’s letter clearly states that the Goodlatte letter was forwarded to Horowitz so that Horowitz could decide if he wanted to investigate the 14 issues listed in the letter.

It’s right there for everyone to see. Contra to your constant insistence that Horowitz is only able to investigate Hillary’s emails.
