... In recent days the president, in tandem with his allies in conservative media, has launched a full frontal attack on special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Russian election meddling and possible collusion with the Trump campaign. But the president has provided no evidence to support his allegations.
This latest unproven claim of a spy scandal now joins of list of other bold allegations by the president that so far have not proven true, including his claim that President Barack Obama had Trump Tower wiretapped, that millions of people voted illegally in the 2016 election, and that President Obama was not born in the United States.
Meanwhile, the Department of Justice announced that the president's demand for an investigation into the FBI's investigation will be handled as part of an ongoing internal review by the inspector general. And officials from the Justice Department, Director of National Intelligence and the FBI are expected to comply Thursday with a request from a handful of House Republicans to brief them on highly classified documents related to the FBI probe.
These lawmakers, led by House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., hope the documents will answer their questions about whether the FBI overstepped. But the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., calls it an abuse of power.
"I dont think any of us have any idea what the White House is doing, except that they want to use any mechanism they can to get their hands on materials they think will be useful for their legal defense team and theyre willing to break down the wall of independence between the White House and the Justice Department to do it," Schiff told ABC News. "Sadly, they have allies in Congress who are all too happy to help in destroying these institutions."

See it? I just saw Clapper admit it on the View.
Media in full desperation mode
I’m hoping that the MSM is brought down as well in this whole thing. This whole thing stinks to high heaven.
These three idiot writers predictably put the burden of proof on the victim. Liberals first argument is “there’s no evidence” and here they engage in projection once again. All opinion all the time from these leftist choads.
More like "Trump Promises"
The press, they NEVER learn.
Fake news media claiming there is no proof of spying.
They have yet to tell us how Russia colluded to elect Trump.
There’s no proof for that assertion.
WOW, it took three alphabet journalist to write that drivel.
If journalists had any morals and intelligence, they wouldn't just repeat the democRat talking points.
Gonna be of lot of crow on the menu for liberals.
The more writers assigned to a story, the more lies it contains.
Lots of spin here, light on facts.
I think they’ve got months of meals backed up already.
Lack of evidence didn’t keep them from launching this whole Spygate fiasco in the first place. What gall.
wall of independence between the White House and the Justice Department.
No such thing.
It took 3 people to write these Dem talking points that don’t even make sense?
Well? It wasn't only true, it was an understatement. This one matches the NBC entry we were talking about a few minutes ago on another thread. Looks like the talking points are out.
Unproven claim? As in Russia Russia Russia? That kind of unproven claim?
When you argue the facts, argue logic. When you can’t argue either, pound the table.
Lots of table pounding here.
It used to be that the news reporters actually went out and searched for the truth.
