I've given this some serious thought.
The only food I can think of that has a front door is the witches house in Hansel and Gretel.
So Gingerbread. The wall is Gingerbread.
I do not like this, and it angers me that our border agents allowed it to happen.
what were they supposed to do? refuse entry ? how?
red rover red rover we dare you to come over- hold hands across the border?
If the stop remissions it will stop 90% of the illegals. If they make it a felony to take welfare youll get rid of the rest
If there are no consequences for sneaking past the border, overstaying a visa, skipping immigration court,
*************
Visa overstays is something the country needs to deal with.
There were some 600,000 plus in 2016 and there is info on
them. It is a matter of manpower to track them down.
When we go to Canada, and don’t have our documents, what do they do?
Don’t we have to show some form of documentation (ID) to pass?
If not, what’s the use for these silly checkpoints?
What a waste of time if we’re not going to use them to control flow.
It's a little more complicated than that, Sheana.
The first step is to claim a “credible fear” of returning to their home country. 95% of those claims are accepted.
Once a claim for a credible fear is accepted, an asylum hearing is scheduled, usually about 6 months in the future.
Then, the immigrant is placed under the supervision of the Department of Homeland Security, until the asylum hearing takes place.
The asylum pleaders can actually get government benefits while waiting for their hearing, so there is some incentive to “not disappear” for at least six months.
However, as you say, most of these folks will end up staying in the USA, for a long time, legally or illegally.
So busy signong chuck n nancy spending bills.. maybe 2020.. or after another 100k or so Syrians are welcomed.
And no one broke in from Gaza last week...
Goldman Sachs will be pissed..!
BS, credible fear my behind. Asylum has rules and actually designates the reasons for gaining asylum. Their reasons are not on it. Theyre just letting them waltz in for any reason. The asylum rules also state that they are to ask for asylum in the first safe country they come to. They passed right through Mexico to get here and should have been denied for that reason alone.
Im sick of excuses.
canada isn’t the usa...
the laws need changing for asylum and strict enforcement write your congresscritters its not the border patrol or immigration inspectors fault they want to do their job but are handcuffed
No it’s not the U.S.A., but I got the impression you thought I was asking too much of our agents. If not, then we have no disagreement.
My point was, that if Canada can demand papers, we should be able to as well.
How in the Sam Hell do these undocumented people get past our check-points?
We know weeks or more in advance. We follow their progress. Then we watch as our border patrol waves them into the nation?
WTH?
Refuse them entry! Done!
What is their job if not for this?
This is a serious question.

I appreciate the links, but I don’t have the time to wade through them now.
Explain what you see as a mistake in my thinking.
You don’t agree that our agents should check out IDs, and refuse entry if a person doesn’t have the proper ID?
So find them and send them back.
I’m quite certain that if 452 baby boomers decided to not pay their income tax, the IRS wouldn’t have any difficulty at all tracking them down.
Border Patrol Agents works between ports of entry to catch those trying to get in illegally- EWI - ENTRY WITHOUT INSPECTION. Inspectors work at ports of entry where people present themselves for inspection for entry.
They claim asylum either when apprehended crossing illegally or at the Port of Entry when inspected. and asylum is abused and needs to be fixed. IMO It should be suspended nationwide until it is fixed with safeguards against abuse. Try and get Congress to fix it !
Reminds me of that expression "all hat and no cattle".
the law allows them to make a claim for asylum, whether it is legitimate or fraudulent and there claim is documented when apprehended or inspected and released for a hearing date in usually 2 years and don’t show up. that’s the problem, catch and release.
