Denia Perez’s parents brought her from Mexico to the United States illegally when she was 11. Last month, she became among the first of the so-called “Dreamers” to earn a law degree. And now, she and others are using their lawyerly know-how to take on the system so they can legally practice.
The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which allows young immigrants who entered the U.S. before 2007 and before their 16th birthday to go to school under temporary renewable work permits, became law in 2012. That means the first beneficiaries have now had just enough time to graduate from high school, get a bachelor’s degree and now, in some cases, a law degree.
The problem: Most states require that practicing lawyers be U.S. citizens or have legal residency status.
Relatively few “Dreamers” have completed law degrees, said Sheila Hayre, a visiting law professor at Quinnipiac University, from whose law school Perez graduated this month. Perez is the only one currently seeking admission to Connecticut’s bar. But she and peers who are also getting law degrees are positioning themselves for a fight.

Any state bar that accepts them is making a joke of our legal system when they accredit illegal aliens to practice law.

And somehow I bet it’s on our dime, instead of graduating with 6-figure debt like American students.
The test is unfair.
The test must be adjusted to allow everyone to pass.
Everyone in a protected class, anyway.
Oppose them in every state they attempt to be admitted to the Bar.
In most states regular folk can present a case to not admit and bring evidence of unfitness. Stop them. Stop them now.

My daughter graduated Law School last year. Has passed the Bar in two states and had to jump though all kinds of hoops to get the licenses. In addition to passing the bar, she was required to pass ethics tests, criminal background checks, be finger printed and finally be recommended by a bar member in good standing.
No way in hell should any criminal illegal be allowed to practice law in the USA.
Just like Soetoro, the Law Board will never question them when they lie about their citizenship and aliases.
