Insurers are going to love the premiums they will charge on the “driverless” cars, and the court cases on their accidents will put the human who had the “autopilot” on, and the insurance company, against the auto manufacturer and/or a software maker of the “autopilot”. It’s going to be lovely.
If you want “autopilot” take a bus or a train, they have someone who will pilot for you. Why take a car if all you want to be is a passenger anyway? Makes no sense and ignores what driving is all about - your gray matter is working, and that is a very good thing, for your gray matter and you.
AI will turn humans into drones no longer able, or needed to use their brains to do anything.
interesting to note the police car is white...didnt they have a fatality last year when a guy ploughed through a trailer that was white? seem to recall it was a case of the camera not ‘seeing’ the trailer and it looks like this is the same for the police car...
I think knowing about this auto mode is not worth the time. Ricidulaous baubles for the vapid to crow about, very SoCal.
