News analysis—Even before President Donald Trump had read the letter from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Friday, it was "special delivery."Instead of bringing Kim Jong Un's number-two unceremoniously through a side door, the White House rolled out the red carpet for Kim Yong Chol, North Korea's former longtime spy chief. Even though Gen. Kim remains under Treasury Department sanctions, with a record of hostile actions against the United States, he was given the kind of reception usually accorded a top diplomat from a friendly nation.
What does this signify? Clearly, Trump has come a long way from his threats of "fire and fury" and insults against "little rocket man," to say nothing of his New Year's tweets comparing his "nuclear button" with Kim Jong Un's. He needs a show of good relations between the U.S. and North Korea as much as Kim Jong Un does, and immediately announced that the summit between the two men was back on for June 12 in Singapore.....

I couldn’t stop laughing, thinking of heads exploding. President Trump and Mike Pompeii walking out to the SUV with the North Koreans, shaking hands, posing for pictures, waving goodbye to them. I’m assuming they were ignoring everything the protocol know-it-alls told them.
Keeping the back channels open. Something the establishment and the previous so-called president had/has no interest in.

Trump is following his instincts. He knows how touchy the Norkies are in matters of pride, so he rolls out the red carpet and gives them a bit of a show. It doesn’t cost anything, but it makes them feel better.
He’s also “talking past the sale”. Everything he’s doing now is to give the Norkies the impression that there will be a deal, it will be a good deal, and that there will be immediate and tangible benefits from that deal.
And the other option was?? The media are such idiots.

The MSM is in a panic because they know if Trump pulls this off and brings peace to the region Nobel prize will or not Trump will be unstoppable. They are hoping for this to collapse such is their hatred.

Quite right. And, IMO, just as importantly he is "talking" to those who might succeed Kim Jong Un in the near term and conveying potential friendship.

Maybe more than anything it’s what Lil Kim has wanted. Now he has fired or replaced three military leaders. Wonder whose idea that was?
Also notice that the NK were dressed in tailored western business suit attire complete with a small lapel flag pin. Nice touch

Yep, it’s killing them to see Trump pull this off:

I saw some Obama-team expert on TV explaining that it is all unfolding as Kim had long planned (i.e., that Trump is being suckered).
