Some of us have called the ACLU by its actual name for the last 30-40 years: American Communist Lawyers Union.
It did just enough “defending” of conservative/non-communists to keep its cover of wanting the destruction of this constitutional republic alive. And the liberal-leftist press helped out.
I substituted Anti-Christian for American Communist, but both shoes fit.
Yep.
So, can the federal government cease paying the ACLU for suing the government?
Following their trial and conviction, I wish to see the ACLU's short drop and quick stop.
If figured they were a far left operation when I first heard of them back in the 60’s.
I’m guessing the American Communist Lawyers Union will give up their 501C-3 status and become just another company?
When my failing employer asked me to take
a pay cut and train a younger employee to
take my job (in NJ) I ran to the state labor
board and ACLU and all I could get was a
affirmation that as an at will employee I had
to take it or leave it. As an over 50 white male
I deserved it!

Dershowitz is a great example of a man of the left who travels rightward.
The ACLU cares nothing for halting the TSA, the NSA, and other common violators of the Fourth Amendment and civil liberties. They are fine with political correctness tyranny. They used to just love murderers, but not their victims. Now they just love big government in all its forms.
Like the mainstream Republican party, what the hell good are they?
Same goes for the hate group known as the SPLC - Southern Poverty Law Center.
Far left group that only has one job; be a fake credible organization designed to label any right wing group racist or whatever it wants.
It should formally be labeled a hate group by the US Government.
Yes, indeed, you’re right! I’m plenty old enough to remember the ACLU before Trump and before Alan’s stints on their director’s board. Alan Dershowitz is truly a rare bird because he’s actually able to put aside his liberal-left leanings in the pursuit of civil jurisprudence. He is a civil libertarian.
Unfortunately, because he is a liberal leftist, I think he’s viewed the ACLU through rose colored glasses, and it’s only now, with Trump, when the radical Left has taken over his Democrat party that he can plainly see all the corruption that we’ve seen all along.
Lawyers don’t pay taxes, the suckers pay taxes.

It was never neutral: founded by communists.
All of the ACLU, ADL (Anti-Defamation-League), and SPLC - with the Rainbow-Push (and ALL of their variations of for-profit and not-for-profit side-corporations!) are as tax-deductible as the fake Clinton Foundation, right?
It never was.
The admission that the ACLU is working for the communists and Nazis against American citizens and their civil rights means that the ACLU should be open targets for street justice.
The late great William Buckley called them the Anti-Chriistian Lunacy Union.
