Actually, if you read the complaint, he is suing for defamation against the parties because they were actually claiming he was woriking with his brother to illegally obtain the records from the DNC.
He is claiming they drag him into the conspiracy. Whether he did anything or not, he opened a can of worms with the suit, and I’m sure he was told to stop in no uncertain terms. Someone, somewhere has a horse missing a head, I’m certain.
But now you say “conspiracy” and I don’t know if you are referencing “the [alleged] conspiracy to assassinate Seth Rich as payback for leaking DNC dirt” or “the conspiracy to spread ugly rumors” about whom was responsible for killing him.
“Conspiracy” can be very, very hard to prove; I think most lawyers would agree with that.
I of course have my own biases; I believe the evidence for a DNC-sponsored “hit” is borderline profound albeit circumstantial.
“Spreading ugly rumors”, is that a crime? It seems like it is about 62% of what all societal activity is about in 2018.
This is apparently a civil case where the standard of conviction/positive result is “preponderence of jury members” versus a criminal case where a unanimous jury verdict is req’d. For A. Rich to launch such a case is IMHO well into a 7 figure affair. That I am pretty sure of. With quite the uncertain outcome. That seems like either a wild gamble or a bludgeon-type move designed to bankrupt the defense. As I said, the cause of action in this case is rather unclear to me.

Yes, apparently that is one variation of the factual. For all manner of media outlets to imply that the DNC killed Seth Rich, never in a million years would they respond to such allegations with a lawsuit as it would open them up discovery. They could fight that battle for 1/100,000 the money by publishing ridiculing denials.
So here comes Aaron Rich, suing for what I can only imagine would be “emotional distress” for these outlets to be claiming that HE, Aaron was the killer. At the time this was a hot story, I never saw anything that made that claim in even the faintest suggestion. (that certainly doesn’t mean that one or more did; just that I didn’t see any such thing) So that’s why I am saying, I really don’t see the cause of action, eg; what there is to sue about.
