Throughout Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitzs massive report on the Hillary Clinton email investigation are lots of strange things. One of the weirdest is the extent to which the FBI went to make up words and phrases to disguise reality.
An early draft of the 2016 FBI report on the email scandal was reportedly subjected to linguistic surgery to exonerate Mrs. Clinton, who at the time was secretary of State. Mrs. Clinton was originally found to be grossly negligent in using an illegal email server. That legalistic phrase is used by prosecutors to indict for violation of laws governing the wrongful transmission of confidential government documents.
Yet the very thought of a likely President Clinton in court so worried the chief investigator, FBI Director James Comey, that he watered down grossly negligent to the mere extremely careless.
FBI investigators also had concluded that it was reasonably likely foreign nations had read Mrs. Clintons unsecured emails. Mr. Comey intervened to mask such a likelihood by substituting the more neutral word possible.
Former President Barack Obama was found to have improperly communicated with Mrs. Clinton over her illegal server while she was in a foreign country. Mr. Obama had denied that fact by falsely claiming that he never knew of her server until much later, after it was publicized.

Will the deception ever end? No one inside wants to admit it exists. But it is still real.
I had a friend in college who believed that no one could go to prison unless they confessed. He had managed to find the loophole in our justice system. He said: “I will never go to prison, because no matter what, I will never confess anything.”
But I think the Deep State is operating with similar levels of deep thinking. They can do anything they want — just so long as they use linguistic ju-jitsu to make it appear that they didn’t do anything wrong, they simply cannot ever be put in jail.
So far, the strategy is actually working.
And now they all work at CNN, ABC,CBS,and all the variants of NBC, as propaganda ministers of content doing the exact same wordsmithing and psy-ops.
I noticed the other day that they’re describing CRIMES as MISTAKES. Very clever. Mistake is so innocent, and who has never made a mistake?
The dirty FBI at the top didn’t make mistakes. They committed crimes.
Agree. In this case crimes indeed.
Yes a complicity media acting as propaganda agency to the Deep State enemy of the Nation.
Plain Writing Act signed by Zero.
Gee...Jeffry Dahmer made some mistake. Right?
Linguistic trickery the book of spin every reporter has one democrats hand them out.
Unfortunately it appears to be working because of the total corruption of the U.S. legal system.
We here on FR knew that long ago.

Bump. aka book of lies.
Train employees in "plain writing"
Also know as Hidden Lies or Legal Weasel Words
Pure Orwellian Doublespeak. They twist the English language by improper application of words to the point it takes on a totally different meaning.
What is "redistribution" but a tyranny perpetrated upon individual workers?
Only the blind could fail to see the iron hand within such a flimsy, semantically-disguised glove.
DOJ is not short for Department of Justice. It now stands for Dumdocrats only jerks.
Lots of Newspeak going around - what it amounts to, in Hanson’s cadence, is the more accurate “lying through your teeth” is now rendered “controlling the narrative”. Ask any news editor.
Let’s not forget the big kahuna, illegal immigrants are simply undocumented aliens who are just waiting for their documentation.
The Big Lie. Indeed.
Kiss of national death.
