Trump is right - Travel ban a needed protection
The Boston Herald ^ | 06-27-2018 | Herald Staff

President Trump enjoyed his first big legal victory and a huge political win yesterday when the Supreme Court upheld his travel ban in a 5-4 decision.

This is a positive development for the security of the country as well as a reaffirmation of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, which gives the president extensive power to deny entry of people into the United States.

Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts rejected challengers’ claims of anti-Muslim bias in the ban, though the reason for many Americans’ concerns is understandable. Candidate Trump was direct in his phrasing of the issue on the campaign trail, proclaiming in 2015 that “Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what the hell is going on.” A blanket ban on Muslims was an ignorant concept and antithetical to the values of the country, and it is good that initiative was abandoned.

The media is no longer conspicuously absent when it comes to criticism of the president. But proper vetting of immigrants from hotbeds of terrorism is a responsibility of government. We cannot throw away sound policy because we find the commander in chief repugnant.

Terrorism affects all Americans. All races, religions and cultures have suffered. Another layer of protection should be welcomed. The current policy lets countries work to get themselves off the travel ban list, as Chad did.

The media should give this issue fair explanation.

Trump did not win

The judge won for the Leftists by delaying the implementation.

because we find the commander in chief repugnant.

Only liberals and other a$$holes find Trump "repugnant." I admire the guy. The fact that he has accomplished more (positive)* in less than two years than the last three presidents did in all of their terms combined with the incessant hatred and lies spewed at him by the media and the "progressive" trash in the leftist cities is nothing short of a miracle.

Personally I found the turd that formerly befouled the white hut loathsome and repugnant as did 60+ million other Americans, but no one in the media mentioned that. One of the reason I loathed that narcissistic POS was the 24/7 licking of his anus by the media.

*Clinton, Bush and the vile turd accomplished a lot to destroy what America was before they took office.
