‘The fellow was there to kill as many people as he could kill’ — Annapolis shooter

WASHINGTON — At a press conference Friday, the Anne Arundel County police chief said the man accused of killing five people at the Capital Gazette Thursday was there to inflict as much pain as possible.

“The fellow was there to kill as many people as he could kill,” Anne Arundel County Police Chief Timothy Altomare said.

...

Wes Adams, the state’s attorney for Anne Arundel County, told WTOP’s Neal Augenstein that Ramos barricaded the back entrance before coming to the front entrance, shooting out the front window and shooting into the newsroom.

Adams described it as an orchestrated plan to make sure no one could get out. He added that one of the victims tried to get out the back door, but couldn’t, and was killed.

After Ramos was taken into custody, officers executed a search warrant at Ramos’ Laurel apartment in the 400 block of Armstrong Court.

The chief said officers found evidence at the home indicating that he was planning a shooting at the Gazette and that he acted alone.

Officials outside the courtroom said that when the suspect appeared for his first appearance last night around 1:30 a.m., the judge asked if he wanted a lawyer. Ramos responded “I’m not going to corporate.”

He also said that Ramos had a history with the Anne Arundel police and was investigated as part of a 2013 incident involving threatening online comments.

The Capital Gazette decided to not press charges in 2013; they worried it would exacerbate the conflict, Altomare said.

I’m surprised the MSM hasn’t called him a ‘White Hispanic Trump supporter’......................

Early on, as Facebook got implemented and people started using it....this ‘jerk’ friended some gal, and then started to harass her. A couple of months went by, and he kept up the act. So she goes to the Maryland cops ask them do something. They have a law on the books about harassment, but it leads to a misdemeanor conviction. That’s all.

So they take him into court, and the judge has strong words with the guy, and then says....you will have to get psychological counseling, and if you fight this....then the court can go to an additional charge that relates to felony charges. So he accepts this.

But now, this newspaper and their journalists come along and they want to chat over this trend, and they use this story, with his name. It’s a public record case, and he should have grasped that.

He fights the paper, and says it’s slander. They use text from the court release and the judge agrees.

So this guy is sitting there and boiling over for at least three years...hostile over what the paper did, and he blames the journalists for the episode.

Amazing that the police were there in 60 seconds. Apparently they went right into action unlike the school shooting in Florida. IMHO that action prevented more deaths unlike what happened with the Coward County Sherriff’s department.

If he was there to kill as many as he could; he would have used a bomb.

The fellow filling in for Rush today called out the MSM for blaming it on Trump’s disrespect of the media.

Of course, the truth is, the shooter acted purely on a personal grudge against the paper, and he had a long history of threats against the paper. Nothing whatever to do with Trump.

I read elsewhere today that people had contacted law enforcement to tell them that Ramos was a bad dude.

Once again, our law enforcement and mental health professionals did nothing to take a bad dude off the streets.

And people wonder why gun ownership keeps increasing.

And the people he killed had nothing to do with all of that. One woman who was killed had just been hired by the newspaper the day before.

Weird how when someone with a gun shows up to confront the bad guy things come to a halt in a lot of cases.

It is ashamed that there was no one present who could shoot back.

I imagine it was a gun-free workplace according to company policy, as it is with all the companies I’ve worked for — no weapons allowed and restrictions on pocket knife blade length. Those employees who wish to have effective tools available have been disarmed and are easily preyed upon by someone with a grudge.

Active shooter training programs are joke. And I’m not laughing.

The mayor of Annapolis sounds like he is from somewhere else for two reasons.

1. His accent.

2. Call for gun control so soon after incident.

The mayor of Annapolis has an accent that is South African and Australian mix. He was born in SA, but was raised in Perth, AU. He moved to Annapolis around 1992. He is a Democrat.

If he the best that Annapolis can do, They deserve more gun control. In this case pump shotgun control. We still don’t know what ammo the killer used but I would suspect double/triple buckshot at close range would do the job.
