That will get you in trouble.
is a Senator considered an Officer or employee of the US Government?
A Senator is an Office holder.
I assume his/her salary comes from some branch of the US Government.
Comments anyone?
Recording a call without advance permission is a serious crime in some states. Don’t know if that’s in play but it’s a serious felony in places.
Probably no one answered the door. They can’t force you to open it if they don’t have a warrant. All you’ll accomplish though in the long run is really pissing them off.
TAMPA A Florida man is accused of impersonating a U.S. senator to avoid paying off his home loan. The U.S. attorney's office in Tampa reports that a grand jury indicted 67-year-old Sidney Hines this week on five counts of impersonating a federal officer or employee. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
IF it happened then Secret Service should have hauled him down to a dark room and shined a big light in his face for hours of questioning. Arrest him for impersonating a Congressman. He and the rest of these idiots need to learn this will not be tolerated.
Great point! I didn’t think of that.
Now the question of "thing of value."
I thought it was him, Avenatti is Stormy Daniels’ lawyer.
Birds of a feather, etc.
This entire left wing civil disobedience temper tantrum needs a hard kick in the ass. Subtle threats, direct threats, hostility, interfering with society... make it hurt.
The “thing of value” could be the return phone call from The President. While it is hard to put a dollar value on it. It is still valuable. He is attempting to increase the value to his “brand” of being a comedian by spreading the news far and wide of the phone call.
The comedian in question is an acquaintance of Trump going back many years. Nothing in the call reflects badly on Trump (just the opposite ... he talked to the “senator” just as he does in public... kudos). The only people who might be put out by this would be the Senator’s people and internal WH staffers. My bet, Trump has zero to do with any SS visit.
Oh look, Avenatti stuck his head in another case. Fame whore.
Maybe he will enjoy those body cavity searches everytime he goes through TSA.
No harm; no foul.
______
That's because Trump came out looking good. He said the same things in a private conversation that he says to the public.
Believe me, we'd be hearing it 24/7 if it made Trump look bad.
Could have been funny but Stuttering John is so lame. Could have trolled but had nothing funny to say except bababooey after Trump hung up.
“Hero of the Stupid” has actually done good here, exposed a security weakness that will be corrected and proved that Trump is willing to work with the other arty to get things done.
Everybody wins here.
“...exposed a security weakness that will be corrected...”
Maybe. Now that I think about it, it’s entirely possible Trump knew who was calling him and played along.
