We have one incident in our history where military had to make a decision- the US CW. About 30% of the officers went south....
Regarding the rank and file troopers they will do what their commanders order them to do. The best hope is that the DOD orders all personnel to stand down, return to base/unit and await orders. We do not need our military to dirty itself with civil affairs.
National Guard will be directed by their governors to quell riots etc ( maybe) as they have LE authorities under the state, but not under the fed gov unless rebellion or insurrection, that is a wide lens to look through.

I think 95% is a pipe-dream number. I remember quite vividly how during the Vietnam War there were major protests in the US and many called for revolution. There was an embarrassingly large number of military who claimed in barracks talk that they would join in any actual anti-government rebellion. To me that was scary because I couldn’t imagine fighting my own country. The glue that held them in line was leadership. Leadership that commanded either respect or fear among the men.
I believe most military personnel will follow their leaders and chain of command even if they know or suspect it isn’t the moral or ethical thing to do. If a well-respected unit leader defects he can take a majority of the men with him, providing he can give them believable reasoning. Many others will also go out of fear of reprisals if they refuse.
Does anyone think ALL the men at My Lai wanted to massacre a village? Or that ALL the Germans at Malmedy wanted to massacre American prisoners? Or that ALL the Germans at Auschwitz wanted to kill all the Jews. They ALL followed the orders of their superiors, probably out of fear, regardless of what the Nuremberg Trials concluded. A lone private isn’t going to be the only person in his unit to stand up and defy a colonel. I’ve seen it happen, but the example made of him most certainly discouraged others.
Men stood in tight lines at Gettysburg while the enemy mowed them down wholesale. Some stayed for personal pride or “patriotism”, most stayed because they feared the shame from their peers and the reprisals of their superiors. Same at the Somme. Men slowly walked into machine guns to nearly certain death because they were afraid not to. If a man is afraid NOT to follow an order, he makes a very good soldier in the eyes of his officers.
In the case of a US rebellion it depends on the leadership on the unit level. The whole military will not rebel ever, but it must be planned ahead that a significant portion will. Much of the leadership in the US has been tainted by rabid liberalism, and that greatly affects lower leadership and by extension the men in the rank and file. Yes, 95% is ridiculous. I believe Pox was more correct, though I doubt half the military would defect either.

Oh, being spit upon while in uniform, back in the 60s and 70s might have something to do with it.
My brother-in-law made lieutenant colonel out of Army ROTC at Iowa State as the honor graduate. That’s not bad. But if you’re an academy graduate and you only get to O-5, you might want to reevaluate your trek upwards. OTOH I knew several land grant college general officers.
