Denmarks prisons agency Kriminalforsorgen has taken new steps to prevent the spread of extremist material in the countrys jails.
Citing security, the agency has shut down an online network used by prisoners in secured facilities, newspaper Jyllands-Posten reports.
The secure network SK-net, which gives prisoners in some facilities online access, has been closed by the prison regulator, according to the report.
One consequence of the decision is the cancellation of online study programs and exams.
The decision is reported to have been made in April after extremist material was found on four Playstation consoles at a secure prison in Nyborg.
Although the consoles were not directly connected to the internet, Kriminalforsorgen believed the material to have been transferred to them via USB drives.

Perhaps the Danes shojld expell non-conformers...
Nobody say anything. Let’s see if those cwafty danes can figure this one out.
Sounds like they need an old fashioned South-American style prison fire.
IIRC, the jihadis were using online gaming to send messages back and forth years ago.
Jihad is NOT a game.....
Jus’ sayin’
Guess they had better check in the Danish rolls they serve for breakfast for secret messages and decoder rings.
Why do they even have PlayStations to begin with?
I got a buddy I grew up with in NYC, he lives in Holland now.
The stories he had about Dutch prisons were mind boggling, they have a lot more than PlayStations to keep them occupied, including women and drugs.
I don’t think people in prison should get playstations. Maybe a deck of card, or chess or checkers. GET REAL PEOPLE!
Jail, free internet sounds like western jails to me. Have we all gone crazy allowing this?
How does one apply?
It’s so they can hone their mass murder skills like teens everywhere. What could go wrong?
They shouldn’t have more than a cot and three square a day. No gym with weights to beef up and attack the guards. No tv. No internet. No video games. No conjugal visits. No nothing.
More rot in the state of Denmark.
No access to other inmates for abominable activities either.
